Danielle Lloyd says Matt Hancock asked for 'date' on SAS Who Dares Wins

Danielle Lloyd reckons Matt Hancock asked her to go on a double date after they'd filmed Channel 4's Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The model, 39, and the disgraced MP, 44, formed an unlikely friendship on the reality TV show, which sees celebrities pushed to their limits while writhing around in mud for charity. Mr Hancock is no stranger to getting his hands dirty after making it to the final of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! last year. Danielle, however, is more likely to be getting her glam on for photoshoots. Yet, despite their very different lives, the mum-of-five said her co-star was keen to meet up after the show, even suggesting they plan a date night with their partners.

She revealed: "Matt messaged me the other day asking if Michael [O'Neill] and I wanted to go out with him and Gina [Coladangelo] on a double date for some food some time. We’re very different people – I honestly don’t know what we’d talk about, but I’m sure it’d be a fun night." The former Miss England added: "I’d just have to get him drunk," reports OK! magazine.

After being caught in an uncompromising clinch in a cupboard with lover Gina, while he was still married to his now ex-wife Martha - and the rest of us were in lockdown, Mr Hancock divided opinion when he decided to make the move to reality TV last year on I'm A Celeb.

However, Danielle says she "didn't have an opinion" about the father-of-three, claiming she wanted to give him a fair chance on Who Dares Wins. "I’m definitely not into politics, " she admitted. "He was just someone I saw on the news every day when we were being told not to leave our houses. But when I met him, he was nice enough to me – really friendly."

But while Danielle may have taken Mr Hancock as she found him, the Scouser admitted not all her fellow celebrities were as open- minded. In a preview of the show, which starts tonight, former footballer Jermaine Penant is seen punching the now independent MP after being given permission from Rudy Reyes during a fight challenge on the programme.

Admitting he went in with a poor opinion of Hancock, which didn’t change after the show aired, Jermaine said: “I think you all have an opinion about him, but then once you go in there, you leave it where it is, and then as soon as you come out your opinion goes back to where it was.”

* Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins is on Channel 4 at 9.30pm
