From photography to rowing, the Princess of Wales has a few talents under her belt.

But Kate revealed another hidden skill she shares with daughter Charlotte on a recent royal visit. The Princess was taking a tour round Aberavon Leisure Centre in Port Talbot, Wales, when she disclosed the trick her daughter is able to do - but admitted it was something she herself needs to "keep practising".

The 41-year-old was seen chatting with youngsters in a gymnastics lesson at the centre during the February trip, asking which tricks they could perform. The sweet interaction, which was captured on camera, saw Kate ask whether any of them could do a particular party trick only achieved by the most flexible.

She was heard asking the youngsters, "can you perform the splits?" Kate then revealed: "I was able to do it when I was little, but I’ll have to keep practising now."

As Grace Evans, six, gave the couple a demonstration of the splits, Kate told her: "My little girl [Charlotte] likes to do that too." The eight-year-old princess has a passion for sports, and is known to get stuck in playing football and cricket at her school, Lambrook, as well as coming from a family of keen equestrians.

Charlotte was even seen trying her hand at archery during the Coronation weekend's Big Help Out in May this year. She revealed her tenacity for gymnastics at the Commonwealth Games in a joint outing with her parents Kate and William in August last year.

SportsAid boss Tim Lawler gave an insight into her hobbies after a brief chat with the young royal during the visit, saying: "She really, really loved seeing the swimming, but she's interested in the gymnastics." He added: "While they're trying lots of different sports at home, when I asked her about sport she answered very easily and said, 'It's gymnastics that I like'."

The Prince and Princess of Wales too are known for their love of sport. While Kate admitted to her ability to do the splits, the royal is patron of SportsAid and All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, as well as the Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League.

Amongst the many activities the former high school hockey player has been seen getting stuck into over the years include rowing, sailing, tennis, cricket, rugby and even abseiling. The royal couple were also seen battling it out on bikes at a spin class during the same royal visit to South Wales in February.

The Princess and Prince rolled up their sleeves and started pedalling away during the visit to a leisure centre in South Wales in February. Despite wearing a long skirt and heeled boots, athletic Kate was victorious as she completed the 45-second challenge, as she was handed a gold cup.
