Despite recent fumbles with its metaverse virtual reality project, and some questionable initial pricing for the Meta Quest Pro, Meta’s annual conference is set to return next week. Meta Connect 2023 will cover all things AI and virtual reality once again, beginning as usual with a keynote by CEO Mark Zuckerberg himself followed by several other presentations. It’s during this livestream event that enthusiasts can look forward to hearing about new Meta products and whether or not existing ones will be discounted.
Meta Connect 2023 is sure to feature various announcements of note. After all, last year’s event was where the Meta Quest Pro was revealed at the not-so-low price of £1499.99 / $1499.99 / AU$1729.99 – bear in mind it’s not aimed at regular consumers and is even labelled as "high-end" by Meta. This time around, eyes and ears will all be focused on the still unreleased Meta Quest 3, which hopes to capitalize on the popularity of the Meta Quest 2 model VR headset.

The Meta Connect 2023 start time has yet to be announced by Meta. The Meta Connect 2023 date has been confirmed and is set for next week on Wednesday, September 27 and Thursday,September 28, spanning two days. You can watch Meta Connect 2023 in the following places:

Meta Connect 2023 will mark the first time since 2019 that the conference has had a physical presence, where people can elect to attend in person provided they’re willing to register and travel. For the first time, the venue will be at Meta’s headquarters in Menlo Park, California, although the majority of viewership will obviously be online.
Meta Connect 2023: what to expect
Meta Quest 3 will be one of the main focuses of Meta Connect this year. It’s expected that the 128GB mixed reality device will get an official release date, alongside the already-confirmed $499.99 price tag. The Meta Quest 3 price for the UK and Australia hasn't been detailed yet, but we can expect it to be around £499 for the former and anywhere between $629 and $700 for the latter.
We should also expect Meta to address the elephant in the room which is the metaverse itself. So far it hasn’t really proven itself as the next version of the internet that Zuckerberg likely hoped it would be. Meta Connect 2023 is the perfect place to announce how this will be handled in the future.
Then obviously there’s the prospect of other, unannounced piece of hardware we don’t yet know about. AI is a topic that’s been on the tip of most tech company’s tongues this year, so expect it to play a role.
