Sky went down last night with tens of thousands of users reporting problems with their internet access.

Service users took to the website Down Detector in their droves with reports beginning at around 10pm and peaking about an hour later. The reports have continued this morning although most users have found it to be working again.

The Sky Help Team on Twitter asked if users were having issues with their connection and were met with a barrage of comments complaining about the service - with one customer fuming 'sort your s*** service out'

A message on the Sky Help website posted at 10.50pm said: "We are aware that some Sky Broadband customers have been experiencing issues. Our engineers have now resolved this however If you continue to experience issues please complete a power reset on your Sky Broadband Hub. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Sky offers satellite television services as well as broadband internet and home phone service.
