Jada Pinkett Smith looks totally changed in new fabulous photo

Jada Pinkett Smith celebrated her 52nd birthday in style as she debuted a gorgeous hair color. She has been candid about her recent hair loss, but looked confident and glowing in the new post.

Rather than the bleach blonde hair that fans had become accustomed to, Jada showed off a rose gold look. She captioned a post on Sept. 18: "This ain't noth'n but a birthday sherbet surprise within a Virgo sunrise."

She was showered with love, especially considering her candor about her struggles with alopecia. The disease causes hair loss, typically on the scalp, and can be either temporarily or permanently. Alopecia can be hereditary or the result of hormonal or medical conditions. Plus, it can just be a normal part of the ageing process.

It is far more common in men, but can occur in women, too, as evidence by Jada's situation. Developing alopecia can definitely take a hit to someone's confidence which is something the star has been open about. She said on Red Table Talk: "It was terrifying when it first started. I was in the shower one day and then just handfuls of hair just in my hands. I was like, 'Oh my god, am I going bald?' It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking with fear."

Over time, Jada has become more comfortable with her temporary baldness. On Aug. 7, the gave fans an update with a before and after selfie. She captioned it: "This here hair is act'n like it's try'n a make a come back. Still have some trouble spots but—we'll see."

Last year, she also made a sweet, empowering post on TikTok. In celebrating bald is Beautiful day, she said: "I don't give two craps what people feel about this bald head of mine. Cause guess what? I love it."

Her more recent post sparked love and joy from her friends and fans alike. Actress Kerry Washington wrote: "Virgo season's finest. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!"

In the photo, Jada wore a black turtle neck jumper and large silver hoops. She leaned up against her hand, showing off long, pink acrylic nails. Her makeup was done light, unleashing her natural glow.
