Thomas Markle has compared himself to King Charles - as he appeared on live TV this morning.

The father of Meghan Markle appeared on Good Morning Britain today where he discussed his link with King Charles, as he made a plea for him to be able to meet his grandkids - Archie and Lillibet. During the chat with Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley, he spoke about how he felt he and Charles were one in the same as they both couldn't see their grandkids on that side.

Speaking on the show, Thomas said: "I still love her, I'll love her forever. I want her to reach out to me and let me have a little peace ... I have always apologised for anything I might have done, but I don't recognise anything I've done wrong. I'm sorry if I have but I can't find anything. The other side of the coin is, King Charles hasn't done anything wrong too and he's denied the grandkids like I am ... Every time I see King Charles, I realise he and I share the same grandkids, that's not fair."

It comes after Jennie Bond, BBC's former royal correspondent, revealed she expected Charles to reach out to Harry privately for his birthday, but is convinced there is "no way back" for the two brothers - William and Harry, with them both having "moved on".

"There is no way back for the brothers. I just can’t see it. William is hurt so deeply that I think he probably just blanks Harry out of his mind most of the time. He has moved on with his life, and I guess so has Harry," Jennie told The Sun's Fabulous magazine.

Prince William has reportedly banned all questions about his brother as he heads to New York for a couple of days this week to unveil the 15 finalists in this year's Earthshot Prize Awards. According to The Sunday Times, everyone is keen to secure an interview with Prince William, and he has flat-out refused to answer questions about his brother.

"This trip is part of his evolution as a global statesman which is incredibly important, especially since becoming Prince of Wales. He and his courtiers have been thinking about how to manage that transition from Duke of Cambridge to the next king. The US is very important to him. The world's climate movers and shakers will be in New York having conversations about the future of the planet and the prince is keen to be part of those conversations and put Earthshot front and centre," an aide shared.

Jennie believes there is "no intention" of the pair managing to heal their rift.

"We all say, ‘oh, time will heal everything’. I think in this case it's not going to heal. In fact, I think positions have become so entrenched that the rest of the family have just moved on and Charles, I exempt him a bit from this, because he's the dad and he still loves his boy obviously, but I think certainly between William and Harry there is no going back, and it's just a fait accompli now that they don't talk," she explained of the feeling between the two brothers, "They have no intention of talking, The two families go their own ways and I think that's how it's going to stay and time is making that more certain."
