Neighbours makes long awaited return with wedding twist as first episode drops

Neighbours' finale ended with a wedding - and its 'next chapter' reboot has started with one too.
At the end of the last - and what was thought to be the final - series, we saw Toadie and Melanie finally tie the knot. Friends and family had gathered both in Erinsborough - and virtually - for the very special wedding. It saw the return of some of the biggest names connected to the show including Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, as well as Barbie star Margot Robbie.
As they all came together for the newly married couple's nuptials, fans were thrilled to see Toadie finally get his happy ending as he said his 'I do's' to Melanie in front of the most iconic residents. It was meant to be the finale of the show after the programme was axed, but in the end, Amazon Studios picked up the rights to Neighbours and it is now living on through the streaming giant.

The new series of Neighbours kicks off two years after the finale and from early on in the episode, we knew Terese would be the bride, as she was joined by some of her children for her big day. After their kiss in the finale episode last year, it looked like she'd be all set to marry Paul, with fans thrilled to see them back together for good.

In the past two years, Toadie and Melanie had split and he had found love again with Terese, with the pair saying their 'I do's in front of their family and friends.
Elsewhere, a new family arrived on Ramsay Street, with one of their sons JJ taking an immediate fascination in the cul-de-sac. What could be drawing him to the residents there, and what does he want to find out? Mischa Barton also made her debut as the mysterious Reece and quickly connected with Byron Stone, but it's clear she's hiding a secret.
