Thiago Alcantara's agent has rejected claims the Liverpool midfielder is set to complete a late move to Turkey.

The Turkish transfer window is due to close later today and reports had linked the likes of Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Trabzonspor with Thiago. It was claimed that the midfielder's agent had offered him to several Turkish clubs, having flown out there to negotiate a deal.

However, Thiago's representatives have denied the player is set to leave Liverpool. Alex Boesch, who co-founded The Player Management agency which represents the Spaniard, suggested there had simply been a misunderstanding over the fact that one of the group's partners had gone to Turkey on holiday.

"My partner Jordi [Figueras] went to Istanbul for a holiday," Boesch told Turkish outlet Sports Digitale in a statement, via Sport Witness. "Thiago will not play in Turkey."

Thiago is currently out of action as he recovers from having surgery on a long-term hip issue. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp had hoped he would be ready to return after the international break, stating earlier this month: "Thiago had a little setback.

"He started training with the team and had a little setback so we have to slow down there a little bit. It's not cool for him, it's not cool for us but it's how it is. Thiago will use the international break for that, to be up to speed I'm pretty sure.

"It should hopefully be enough." However, the 32-year-old has suffered another setback and missed training on Thursday, with Klopp admitting he will miss the trip to Wolves on Saturday as he is only "running" at the moment.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is also set to miss the Wolves after picking up a hamstring injury in the win over Aston villa which forced him to pull out of the England squad. "No concern, he is not available," Klopp said of Alexander-Arnold. "We knew that before.

"He didn't train with the team once yet and it will take a little bit. It's not the worst hamstring injury you can have but it's a hamstring injury. They barely heal in two weeks and this one didn't as well. We hope he can start, as he's running already, start ball work next week. Then we will see and go from there."

However, Klopp did play down fears over Darwin Nunez after he suffered "muscular difficulties" while away with Uruguay. "I didn't see him yet but obviously we had contact and they said Darwin is fine," Klopp said. "But we will see that that. We will make a couple of decisions but Darwin should be fine."
