TalkTV star and former CITV host Danielle Nicholls has opened up about the criticism she endured about her big bust while presenting the children's show.

Danielle, 44, started her TV career on CITV in 1998 when she was chosen from more than 900 applicants for the role. She presented on the show, which aired six times a week, form more than three years before leaving in December 2001.

The show was responsible for shows like Teletubbies and due to the targeted audience, Danielle has revealed that she had to take extra precaution with her attire when presenting.

She admitted that due to the 'trend' of smaller breasted presenters, minimiser bras were common in the late 1990s/early 2000s and was encouraged to wear them while on TV.

Speaking to Daily Star, Danielle said: "When I first started at CITV there were so many complaints about my boobs. I was only 19 and only had a D-cup at the time, but I was a size eight, so it was a problem.

"I had to wear what was called a minimiser bra - in the 2000s it wasn't trendy to have a big bust at all."

Danielle added that she "got her head around" being unable to wear clothes that her fellow female colleagues could because of her bust size and it was children's TV, but didn't appreciate being told to cover up.

The mum-of-four explained that her bust has only got bigger since her CITV days after giving birth and breastfeeding, which has seen her get accused of having breast enhancement surgery.

She added: "When I had the babies put on three stone and I never really lost that last stone. I get accused of having a boob job all the time.

"I've never had any surgery - I've had Botox and filler, but I'm not anti-surgery at all, but these are my boobs. They fed my babies."

Danielle, who hosts Saturday night Talkaway with Andre Walker on Talk TV, is still getting complaints from trolls to this day and recently received criticism for wearing a peep-hole dress while presenting on air.

Danielle concluded: "I just think it's really wrong, I'm aware I have a big bust, but it's natural and it's all mine. I've spent so long feeling embarrassed about it, but I'm always apologising for my boobs.

"I thought, 'Why the hell are you shaming me?' I wasn't wearing inappropriate clothes, there was a hint of cleavage. I just have a big chest! We shouldn't be apologising for that."
