Jack Fincham is considering "lodging a complaint" against the Kent police after being "unfairly treated", his legal representative has claimed.

The Love Island 2018 contestant was arrested on August 26 on suspicion of drug driving and careless driving, as well as driving without insurance and driving displaying false number plates. The incident took place after Fincham was stopped nearly his Swanley home on the A2 in Dartford, a major road that connects London with the English Channel port of Dover. It's understood that the 31-year-old was given a blood test after being arrested before being released under investigation.

Fincham's solicitor has now addressed the case, revealing that his VIP client could be filing a complaint against the Kent police force for their treatment of the ITV reality show star.

"Mr Fincham has not been charged with drug driving and denies any drug consumption whatsoever," Conor Johnstone, from Maj Law firm, told the PA News Agency on Thursday. "There is no evidence at this stage that Mr Fincham drove whilst over the legal limit and we are hopeful that his blood results will prove the same."

Johnstone added that his client is now in "considering lodging a complaint against the force" as he feels "as though he has become a target of Kent Police in recent months." Fincham was also arrested on suspicion of drug driving in January 2021. The charges were dropped in December of that year, however, due to 'insufficient evidence relating to disclosure requirements.'

Johnstone revealed that Fincham was also questioned by police in a carpark in July 2021, but he was neither arrested nor charged with anything on this occasion.

“Mr Fincham has spoken openly about his struggles with mental health in the past and does feel unfairly targeted by Kent Police. We have advised him on the process of lodging a complaint."

Fincham rose to fame in 2018 after winning the fourth series of Love Island with Dani Dyer, who is best known as the daughter of former EastEnders star Danny Dyer. He and the TV personality confirmed they had split December 2018, however, after just six months together.

Fincham has spoken candidly about his mental health history in the past, which resulted him in being prescribed medication and taking sick leave.

"I used to take anti-depressants when I was 18," the social media influencer revealed on the Movember’s In The Barber Chair Podcast "I used to have such bad anxiety."

Fincham also recalled how he was constantly in "fear something awful was going to happen", but admitted he was "embarrassed" to explain to his bosses and colleagues why she was absent from work. "At the start, I didn’t know what to do – it was just an all-round panic." He has since learned the importance of talking more openly about how he truly feels, as well asking his friends about their own wellbeing too.

"I've learnt now to say to my mates: ‘How are you?’ And sometimes they will say they have something on their mind," he added. "So I think it’s an important thing to check in with people.”
