Caitlyn Jenner claims Kim Kardashian 'calculated' fame 'from the beginning'

The first trailer for the upcoming docuseries on the Kardashian-Jenner clan about their biggest scandals has been released.

Last month, SKY and NOW TV announced the new three-part series House of Kardashian, which is set to explore the rise, fame and fortune of one of the world's most powerful families after dividing public opinion for years. In the new forty-one-second trailer released by the television network, things look more explosive than ever in the docuseries, which the famous family has had no editorial control over, unlike their previous reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians and its current successor, The Kardashians.

Kris Jenner's ex-spouse, Caitlyn Jenner, is set to take centre stage and spill all during lengthy interviews in the docuseries. In the trailer alone, she makes the damning claim that her former step-daughter Kim Kardashian had "calculated" her fame "from the beginning".

Meanwhile, the family's long-time friend Joe Francis, of Girls Gone Wild fame, also claimed that Kim's sex tape in 2017 was a "means to an end" and a way to "create a controversy". A slew of archival footage of the family over the years plays with an unnamed voiceover saying: "Kris wanted to be more than just a housewife", while another added that people fell into two camps, including wanting to talk about the Kardashians, or thinking that they had "ruined the world".

The official logline accompanying the trailer reads: "No other family defines our times or divides opinion like the Kardashians. This three-part documentary series explores the dynasty that is the Kardashian family, exploring their rise, reach and the cost that comes with having Kardashian-level fame. Featuring first-hand testimony from some of those within the Kardashian-Jenner inner circle, including Caitlyn Jenner herself."

Speaking in a statement about the series, Caitlyn said: "I was happy to participate in the interview process to share my side, which points to the strength, influence, and prowess my family has in captivating the world's attention and keeping it over the years. I am incredibly proud of all my children and stepchildren."

Caitlyn's time on the family's famous reality series was marred with drama, including her falling out with the clan following her split from Kris Jenner. Caitlyn's highly publicised transition was also covered in the series.

Poppy Dixon, Director of Documentaries and Factual at Sky added: "Whether you like, loathe or are indifferent to the Kardashians, you cannot deny the family's grip on popular culture and influence on society. The story behind how these women redefined the word 'dynasty', all whilst our attitude to celebrity, race and women has changed, is inspiring, thought-provoking and tells us so much about ourselves." The series is set to air in the UK on October 8 on Sky Documentaries and streaming service NOW TV.
