The presentation of two “alien corpses” by UFO experts in Mexico has sparked a row - after an American specialist labelled it an “unsubstantiated stunt”.

The “alien corpses” were presented by forensic scientist Dr Jose Zalce Benitez and journalist Jaime Maussan to the Mexican congress, who watched on in awe as the pair testified under oath. The “aliens” were small mummified beings with a long head and long fingers, which were not part of “our terrestrial evolution” according to the experts.

But Navy Lt Ryan Graves, who has previously spoken in US Congressional hearings about Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), was less-than-impressed by the claims. After he was invited to the Mexican Congress to respond to the presentation, he described the claims as a “huge step backwards”.

Lt Graves wrote on X: “After the U.S. Congressional UFO hearing, I accepted an invitation to testify before the Mexican Congress hoping to keep up the momentum of government interest in pilot experiences with UAP. Unfortunately, yesterday's demonstration was a huge step backwards for this issue.

“My testimony centred on sharing my experience and the UAP reports I hear from commercial and military aircrew through ASA's witness program. I will continue to raise awareness of UAP as an urgent matter of aerospace safety, national security, and science, but I am deeply disappointed by this unsubstantiated stunt.”

Mr Maussan and Dr Benitez snapped back at the criticism, challenging other scientists to take samples of the “alien” bodies to conduct their own studies. Mr Maussan expressed disappointment at Lt Graves’ comments, and Dr Benitez reminded those claiming it was a “hoax” that they could destroy his life’s work.

When under oath, Mr Maussan told Mexican politicians that “we are not alone” while showing the remains of alleged “non-human” beings. He said the specimens were not related to any life on Earth.

He claimed the two bodies were discovered in Peru near the ancient Nazca Lines in 2017, and that a carbon dating process by Mexico’s National Autonomous University (UNAM) showed the corpses were 1,000 years old. He said similar findings have turned out to be mummified children - but this is the first time evidence has gone far enough to be presented.

“I think there is a clear demonstration that we are dealing with non-human specimens that are not related to any other species in our world and that all possibilities are open for any scientific institution... to investigate it. We are not alone,” Mr Maussan said.

X-rays, 3D reconstruction and DNA analysis have all been carried out on the humanoid style bodies, according to Dr Benitez. He said: “I can affirm that these bodies have no relation to human beings.” They carry “eggs” with embryos inside them, and were found with strong, light bones and no teeth.

The row comes as NASA prepares to release a large study on UFOs, as part of a change in approach in which they investigate UFO sightings deeply and more publicly.
