Terrifying moment two 'XL Bully dogs' storm garden and kill cat in horror attack

Terrifying doorbell footage shows the moment two XL Bullies barge their way into a garden and kill a family's pet cat.

The dogs, which are understood to be of the controversial breed, forced their way through the garden gate before launching into the attack on September 3. No owners can be seen nearby in the clip and the dogs are not on a lead.

While one cat was lucky enough to escape, Deepan Patel’s cat Dusty was sadly caught. In the morning the pet’s broken body was found, causing a huge amount of distress for the family from Hounslow, West London.

Footage posted on NextDoor from last week’s rampage has left pet owners in the area terrified, reports My London, with many coming forward to share similar incidents about the same two dogs.

It comes amid the fallout from a high-profile incident in Birmingham at the weekend involving an XL bully, which left an 11-year-old girl and two adults injured. The attack has added to the ongoing debate about the potential banning of the breed. A man was also bitten on his bottom by an XL bully in Liverpool this Tuesday while working on a property, leading to the dog being destroyed.

As he shared his experience with Hounslow Council’s animal warden as well as the police on the evening of the attack on his cats, Mr Patel warned local residents about the dogs. He wrote on social media: “The whole family is incredibly upset and my mother is in tears. The dogs should not be roaming freely and could easily have entered an open window or door and attacked a small person"

Other residents had already reported had run-ins with the dogs that evening, with the dogs were spotted charging around and bumping into a child three hours before they would end up mauling Mr Patel’s cat to death.

Mr Patel says that a resident told him they made a non-emergency call at 6.30pm to police about the about the dogs. At 8.15pm, residents say they called police again when two large dogs jumped into a neighbour’s garden and broke her back door. They then entered her property and tried to attack her forcing her to flee her home.

An hour later the dogs entered his parent’s garden and killed his cat - and he has blasted police for what he claims is their slow response. He said: “The police could have prevented Dusty from being killed if they had come when they said they would,”

The slow response from the police and council has caused residents to panic, according to Mr Patel, who told Local Democracy Reporting Services that he has faced ‘backlash’ from the council who mentioned ‘pressure’ from social media and tried to place the responsibility of the community’s concern on his online post.

However, Mr Patel says the lack of transparency from the council is what caused so much uncertainty and fear. He said: “People don’t know where the dogs are - if they are with their owners or out on the loose."
