A Nessie hunter has claimed to have spotted the Loch Ness Monster for the sixth time this year as several sleuths decided to visit Scotland in a bid to track down the monster.

Fiona Wade said she saw Nessie in Loch Ness at 10.45am on August 31. She claimed the "sighting", which has been logged in the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register, lasted between 30 and 40 seconds.

The hunter claimed the shape was "like nothing I have seen before", as she added: "I can only describe it as Nessie as I can't think of any logical thing it could have been." Ms Wade claimed to have seen Nessie just days after civil servant Alastair Gray said he saw "three odd and seemingly connected shapes" near Invermoriston.

The woman said she was not aware of Mr Gray's sighting when she believes she spotted Nessie - and added that it was probably "in a very similar location". Describing what she saw at Loch Ness, she said: "It initially looked like a periscope but then two curved areas followed, it was moving and about halfway out in the Loch looking roughly over to mid-way between Foyers and Whitebridge."

She said: "I have seen deer crossing before but this was like nothing I have seen before and I can only describe it as Nessie as I can't think of any logical thing it could have been. It was large enough to catch my eye and it appeared to leave a slight wake behind it."

Back in 2018, Charlotte Robinson from Leeds in Yorkshire claimed to have spotted the Loch Ness Monster at Invermoriston. Just days before, Chie Kelly captured images of a strange creature on Loch Ness. The 51-year-old was taking photos with her husband from the village of Dores when they claimed to have seen a "serpent-like" creature moving before disappearing in the water.

These sightings were not shared publicly due to people's fears of being ridiculed, but after hearing that at the end of August, a huge search for Nessie was launched in the Scottish Highlands, those who claim to have spotted the creature decided to come forward. Hundreds of people signed up to monitor a live stream on Loch Ness two weeks ago in what was described as the biggest Nessie hunt in more than 50 years.

Other recent sightings include those of Etienne Camel and wife Eliane who were visiting the Loch from Lyon, France, on June when they allegedly spotted a 65ft dark shadow moving underneath the surface for several minutes. Only a couple of weeks earlier on May 31, American tourist Ceci also spotted a strange shape for a few minutes.

Paisley resident Francesca McGarvey claimed she spotted humps in the water when visiting with her parents on April 5. All four sightings were taken down on the Official Register of Loch Ness Sightings, compiled by Nessie expert Gary Campbell since 1996.
