In 2019, he announced his engagement to Tricia in a post shared with his Instagram followers. He shared a snap of the two kissing in London's Carnaby Street and wrote: "Here's to the future Mrs Sidwell #SheSaidYes". The location had a very special meaning to the pair as they were first introduced while starring in the stage show Carnaby Sreet: The Musical

After breaking the happy news, Aaron's famous pals rushed to congratulate the pair. Tilly Keeper wrote: "Congratulations" followed by a red love heart. Former Ben Mitchell star Harry Reid replied to say: "My boy," while Ross Williams added: "Amazing news!! Congratulations!! xxx"

Aaron became the fourth actor to play Steven Beale on Albert Square between 2007 and 2017. He was previously married to Grace Isted with whom he shares daughters Matilda, 14, and Isla, 21. The soap actor and Grace tied the knot in 2009 and split four years later in 2013.

In 2020, The Sun claimed the duo went their separate ways after struggling with their relationship. A source said: "Aaron and Tricia are over but still on good terms as they have to work together in the future. It's really sad but they're determined to remain best friends."

During that same year, he revealed he was threatened at knifepoint. Explaining his ordeal, he said: "I was just walking back from the gym, same way I go every single day, and some little kid just like pulled a bread knife out on me." Shaking his head, he continued: "Like what are you doing? You live in Kent, the garden of England, you little t**t.

"Why are you walking around with a bread knife? Just anyone, I've got some friends on here who follow me who live in the area, so just be aware of kids with bread knives [...] because they're on half term and they're a little bit bored and they just feel like running around scaring people."
