Patsy Kensit left completely 'starstruck' as she makes epic EastEnders comeback
EastEnders star Patsy Kensit has admitted to being starstruck when she returned to the soap.
The actress made her comeback to Albert Square on Monday night as Emma Harding, following the tragic death of her daughter Lola Pearce. The estranged mother first turned up to Walford after Lola decided to track her down but soon changed her mind. After Emma came clean to Lola about her identity, the pair began to bond but Lola's brain cancer diagnosis worsened.
Things soon got too much for Emma, who decided she couldn't watch her daughter deteriorate, and Lola later tragically died in May without her mother by her side. Emma last made her appearance in Walford back in June at her daughter's funeral. However Emma made her comeback after Lola's daughter Lexi has been texting her grandmother Emma.
Patsy has shared how pleased she was to make a return to the soap as Emma. Speaking on This Morning, the 55-year-old said: "I’m a superfan and it really is my dream job. That was really top of list. It was manifested." Despite having numerous high-profile roles, Patsy admitted she was filled with nerves as she turned up to film at EastEnders. She confessed: "I was really starstruck and super nervous as I actually am a superfan."
By being such a fan of the show, Patsy knows Emma's actions won't go down too well with viewers. She shared: "Emma is a flight risk. She will say and believe everything that she’s telling this person and then walk out of the door. It’s cruel." The actress was spotted filming her third appearance. An insider told The Mirror: “Patsy has been back in Albert Square filming on multiple occasions this month – so it seems fans have not seen the last of Emma.
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likeness“Patsy has really impressed the bosses, and is a big hit with the rest of the cast. She loves the show too, so she was thrilled to be asked to return as Emma. She, like audiences, had thought her cameo appearance at Lola’s funeral was her last on the Square.” Mum-of-two Patsy said she had an “awesome experience” on EastEnders before her return, writing on social media: “Cannot thank my amazing cast members [enough] for being so kind and loving to me.
“Big thank you to the BBC, the producers, writers, crew and the EastEnders family…Jamie and Danielle for making me laugh my a**e off everyday. I love you both… Emma Barton … so so many people.” Sharing her delight at originally joining the soap, Patsy said: “I’m so excited to be visiting Walford for this storyline. It has always been a dream to appear in EastEnders. The cast, producers, writers and crew have been wonderful, and I’ve had a ball.”
