If you're looking to get your hands on a smart speaker ahead of Black Friday, then today's your lucky day. Amazon has just launched one of its biggest ever deals on the 5th-gen Echo Dot speaker.

Put simply, it's a borderline BOGOF deal. All you have to do is stick two Echo Dot speakers in your basket and add the promo code ECHODOT at checkout. You'll get the lot for just £58.98, meaning each speaker will end up costing just under £30.

It's the latest model of the Echo Dot, having only been released last year, and it's designed with music in mind. That means it hooks up to apps like Spotify and Amazon Music, and has better bass than cheaper Alexa speakers for a crisper sound.

By getting the deal, you could set up the speakers in different rooms of your house and sync your music across them, effectively giving you a mini Sonos-style hi-fi system for a fraction of the price.

It's worth noting that the deal only applies for the Charcoal and Deep Sea Blue models of the Echo Dot, so just make sure you buy the right colour scheme when you go to checkout. The 5th-gen Echo Dot comes with full Alexa voice controls and even has a new temperature sensor which should give you more control over your indoor heating.

The only catch is that it might not be the most advanced Echo Dot speaker for very long. Amazon is set to host an event on September 20 in which it is tipped to announce a 6th-generation Echo, but it's only a rumour at this stage.

Either way, this deal is still a great opportunity to get some smart voice-controlled audio in your house for a bargain price, so it's worth considering.
