Emmerdale's Amy Walsh and EastEnders' Toby-Alexander Smith were surprised by EastEnders pal Shona McGarty after they exchanged wedding vows amidst 100 of their closest friends and family.

Radiant bride, 36 year old Amy, gushed about her "most perfect day" but a highlight of the event was a surprise performance by Toby's former EastEnders' co-star Shona McGarty. The actress delighted the newlyweds and guests with an unexpected duet at the reception.

The first dance of Amy, 35, and Toby, 32, was made even more memorable with a live rendition of 'Calm Down', an original song by Amy's favourite singer, Sonny Tennet. The couple's chosen tune held an extra layer of sentimentality as it was the very song they listened to in the delivery room before welcoming their daughter Bonnie into the world.

Not one to let a memorable moment slip by, Toby seized the opportunity to make it even more unforgettable. He invited Shona to join Sonny in a duet, creating a magical musical moment. "She's got an incredible voice," Toby praised in a chat with OK! magazine. "I'd put them in touch beforehand so they had Zoom rehearsals together. It was the duo you never knew you needed."

Amy also shared her admiration for Sonny's vocal talents. "Toby and I fell in love with Sonny within our first weeks of seeing each other," she gushed about the young singer-songwriter from South Shields, who skyrocketed to fame on TikTok. "So we'd decided to play his songs as we walked back down the aisle together and for our first dance."

Another shining star of the event was little Bonnie – the couple's nearly two year old daughter – who accompanied her dad down the aisle in anticipation of her mum's arrival. Cradled in her father's arms, Bonnie was the first to spot Amy making her grand entrance, escorted down the aisle by her own father, John.

"I just couldn't wait to turn around and see her," Toby confessed. "I knew she must have been coming down the steps and that Bonnie had seen her. I was still facing the front, and Bonnie suddenly lit up and said 'wow'. She was obviously pointing at Amy so I started crying. I said 'does mummy look gorgeous?' and she just kept saying 'wow'."
