Inside rival soap stars' love story and Strictly meeting as they tie the knot
Rival soap stars Toby-Alexander Smith and Amy Walsh delighted fans when they announced they tied the knot.
Toby and Amy, who are known for their roles in EastEnders and Emmerdale respectively, tied the knot at Talici Hill Rustic Villa in Montenegro in a gorgeous outdoor ceremony surrounded by their nearest and dearest. Guests included Emmerdale stars Natalie Ann Jamieson, Olivia Bromley, and Louisa Clein.
She walked down the steps to the bottom of the aisle with her brother and walked the rest of her way with her dad, John - who has terminal cancer. They are now enjoying their honeymoon in the mountainous Balkan country. Speaking about the ceremony, Amy said: “It was honestly the most perfect day. It surpassed all my expectations and more. I felt so surprisingly present on the day and loved every second. Now I’m just in pure bliss."
The couple enjoyed a whirlwind romance since meeting in the audience of Strictly Come Dancing in 2019. Toby and Amy were both sitting front row of the studio where Amy was supporting her former castmate Kelvin Fletcher while Toby was cheering on his co-star Emma Barton.

They went on to welcome a daughter two years later (DAILY MIRROR)They previously discussed how 'fate' brought them together. Jamie Laing was supposed to be part of the line-up that year but ended up breaking his ankle before he could take part. He was later replaced by Kelvin Fletcher, who went on to win the Glitterball Trophy with his dance partner Oti Mabuse.

According to Amy, Toby wasn't meant to be in the audience that week. "After the show, someone sent me a screenshot of us in the audience and I sent it to my best friend and joked, 'Me and my future husband,' just thinking it was going to be a date. But after our first date I was like, 'This is it!'" she previously said.
A couple of months later, the country went into lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic and the couple were forced to go long distance with their new relationship. Toby quickly made the decision to move into her home and spent three incredible months living with her.
In 2021, Amy fell pregnant with the couple's first child. Amy, who plays Tracy Metcalfe, and Toby, announced in September 2021 that they were expecting. She told OK! magazine at the time: "It feels as though the way everything happened was meant to be. I thought I might struggle with fertility, so for pregnancy to happen quite easily and when I wanted – I was gobsmacked. We feel incredibly lucky..."
After being engaged for a year, the two finally tied the knot (ITV)They welcomed their daughter, Bonnie, in December and shared the exciting news with fans. "Well…it’s been a busy week! Hope you all had a good one. HAPPY NEW YEAR from the three of us," they said. Months later, Amy revealed it was a 'tough' process as she and Toby appeared on Loose Women.
"Yeah, it was tough. It wasn't easy at all. I kind of prepared myself for the worst but it was worse than the worst," she explained. "I had to be induced for various reasons and risk of infection which obviously just catapults you, doesn't it? The contractions were going fast but I wasn't dilating."
Toby and Amy announced their engagement on Instagram in August 2022. Toby-Alexander revealed he dropped down on one knee to propose to her during their sunny holiday in Ibiza. Former Gray Atkins actor Toby shared a selfie of the pair to show off Amy's engagement ring after he popped the question and wrote in the caption: "So this happened". Amy also took to her Instagram page to share three snaps of their Ibiza trip with the caption: "Before During. After."
They finally tied the knot in Montenegro at the end of August and shared exclusive snaps with OK! of their gorgeous venue and custom wedding dresses and suits. They wrote their own vows, with Toby telling his new bride: “With you I’ve found my heart and my home.”
