Maya Jama and Stormzy want to make sure their rekindled romance will be free from Toxic Traits – by undergoing some spiritual healing.

The couple have been offered guidance in their relationship by his mum’s pastor, in a bid to help them deal with past tensions that led to their painful split four years ago.

A source said: “Stormzy and Maya have been encouraged to go to ‘couples’ therapy’ to nip their past issues in the bud once and for all. He is very close to his mum Abigail’s pastor, and she made the recommendation.

“They plan to use him in a similar role to Bishop T.D. Jakes in Oprah Winfrey’s life, who has guided her through the highs and lows of life with transformational thinking.”

The pal added: “Stormzy and Maya have never stopped loving each other and want to do all they can to protect their second shot at lifelong happiness. Stormzy has already told friends he’s ready to have kids as early as next year.”

Last month, Stormzy, 30, and Love Island host Maya, 29, got back together in Greece. They previously dated from 2015 to 2019. Their reconciliation comes a year after the grime artist admitted that losing Maya was one of his biggest regrets. He explained: “I didn’t do what a man should do to fully appreciate love, and care for his woman.”

While Stormzy has always denied cheating on Maya, he says that he’s keen to learn lessons about his behaviour and is ready to make a lifelong commitment. News of the couple giving their relationship another go coincides with Stormzy renovating his South West London home – perhaps in preparation for a family.

The musician has previously admitted: “I do want a family of my own. I want to get married and I want to settle. My idea of an amazing future is having my house and kinda running around and my missus there. And we’re going to eat dinner at the dinner table.”

Let’s hope the couple can make it work this time…

A source close to Maya last night said the suggestions of spiritual guidance for the couple were “speculation.”
