Carlos Alacraz delivered a tribute to Jude Bellingham as he celebrated winning his US Open quarter-final against Alexander Zverev.

The Wimbledon champion beat the German 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 to set up a semi-final clash with Daniil Medvedev on Friday. Though born in Murcia, Alcaraz is a huge fan of Real Madrid, who made Bellingham the second most expensive player in their history his summer.

He moved to the Bernabeu for more than £88million and has quickly become a fan-favourite among Madridistas. The Englishman was named La Liga's player of the month for August, having scored in his first four games in succession.

After achieving that feat, becoming the first player since Cristiano Ronaldo to do so, Bellingham was serenaded with a 'Hey Jude' chant from the home supporters. And now he has received another tribute from Alcaraz.

The world No.1, who is defending his US Open title, shook hands with Zverev and the chair umpire following his win before making way out onto the court. As he did so, he outstretched his arms and looked up to the sky.

He then shouted a loud "Vamos" to show his happiness, with his celebration reminiscent of that of Bellingham's signature. Alcaraz appeared to confirm Bellingham's influence by tweeting a picture of his celebration with the caption "Hey Jude" and tagging the Madrid star.

Alcaraz has already confessed to being a huge fan of Bellingham's, having hailed the midfielder in a press conference earlier this week. And he also revealed that the duo have talked as they both set the standard for your players in their respective sports.

“I'm really happy to watch him play in Real Madrid. He's such a great, talented player, one of the best in the world. I'm sure that he's going to be the best player in the world in that position," Alcaraz said after his second round win over Lloyd Harris.

"I'm just really, really happy to have him in the team. I talk a little bit with him. He's such a great person, as well. He’s a complete guy. I love watching the matches, following the scores.

"It doesn't matter if it's in the top part or the bottom part [of the draw], I’m following all the results. I love Grand Slams 'cause there are a lot of matches. I'm almost full day watching scores. I love watching all the matches.”

Alcaraz will face Medvedev on Friday at the Arthur Ashe Stadium for a place in Sunday's men's singles final. Bellingham meanwhile is preparing to feature in England's upcoming games against Ukraine and Scotland.
