Thanking his EastEnders family and his father, Bobby said in his touching acceptance speech: "This actually has very, very, very little to do with me and everything to do with my dad. Over the course of the last twenty years, I have consistently heard him say 'because I can'. It was a mantra or a moto of his, and him just saying that it's... Because I can."

"I feel so privileged and I feel like I'm a very little part of this award. I'm blessed. My dad cried, I think I'm going to cry when I see him. I just want to go and give him a hug now to be honest. I just want to go and hand this award to my dad, because all because of him," Bobby gushed.

"Everyone has been an amazing mentor but all for different reasons - either as an actor or a person. There's so many, but Lacey Turner is one of my best friends on and off screen. She's just a diamond. To love Lacey is to know Lacey. They're all amazing for different reasons," Bobby gushed.

After Bobby's big win at the National Television Awards viewers at home gushed over his sweet relationship with his beloved dad as one said: "Oh Jeff. So proud of Bobby."

Another added: " Bobby Brazier is such a charming young guy & deserves all the success in the world. Jeff is such a great dad too," as someone else wrote: "Jeff Brazier watching his son accept an NTA has made me absolutely sob."

"Tonight is emotional tv man! Seeing how proud Jeff Brazier is of Bobby is just beautiful to see," commented a fourth. Another said: "Jeff so proud and so she should be and Bobbys mother would have been proud," as a viewer shared: "Jeff crying has done me!! The pride and love is so there to see."

Soon, Bobby will be swapping Albert Square for sequins next month as he takes on Strictly Come Dancing. TV presenter Jeff told The Mirror, his son's burgeoning career is purely down to his attitude. Jeff shared the actor's late mother Jade Goody would be proud beyond belief of her son over the past few years.

The Big Brother star died in 2009 after battling cervical cancer when Bobby was five and his brother Freddie, 18, was just four.

In an exclusive interview, Jeff told the Mirror: "I'm really proud of Bobby and the attitude he has had since he's been on EastEnders. He's wanted to absorb as much from all the incredibly experienced actors around him. He's made a really good start to his career, and I can see he's proud of himself, too.

"I can see every time I switch it on that he's got better. Every time I watch it I can see he's better in the terms of the layers. I'm no acting expert, I can't say how good he is, but i'm really proud of my son. He's had an opportunity and he's taken it.

"I remember being told you live vicariously through your kids, I guess most parents do. When they start to achieve from a career point of view, it's special. He's made a mark and now he gets to have another very different experience."

Jeff added of Bobby's Strictly Come Dancing signing: "He's going to get to learn a lot about himself. It's going to be really difficult, he's going to have to really dig in. There's a lot to learn, then you forget it all and there's another routine! I have no doubt he'll impress people with his politeness and his manners.

"He has a really beautiful nature, he makes you feel good - that's his gift. I can't wait to see him share it with everybody else."
