Billie Piper turns heads as she poses on red carpet with dramatic hat
Billie Piper looked unrecognisable on the red carpet last night, sporting a glam satin suit and a huge floppy hat.
While many TV stars decided to go to the National Television Awards on Tuesday, Billie, 40, rocked up at the Elle Style Awards – and made quite the entrance. She looked worlds away from her days as a 90s pop star, wearing an aquamarine blazer and bell bottom trousers, which were tailored beautifully and gave the look a distinctly seventies feel. Billie accessorised her outfit with a huge black ruffle scarf – despite the country's heatwave – and an enormous wide-brimmed hat with ribbon detail. Her makeup was predictably glam with smoky eyes, coral blusher and a slick of caramel-coloured lipstick. She's also ditched the 90s highlights, opting for a subtle shade of chestnut, which complimented her striking suit perfectly.
After finding fame as a teenage pop star, with her smash hit Because I Want To, Billie had two rollercoaster relationships before settling down with her current partner, musician Johnny Lloyd. The Swindon-born star was just 15 when her debut single shot straight to number one, changing the singer's life overnight.
The Doctor Who star had a self-confessed 'wild' and 'reckless' time in her late teens, and snuck off to tie the knot in Las Vegas with TFI Friday host Chris Evans at the age of 18. Chris was 35 years old at the time and it caused a national media storm as Billie told The Guardian: "Rather than 'oh she was a pop star', it was more 'she was a pop star, then she got p***ed for five years with an old man,'" However, the actress insisted: "Loved it, loved that time, learned so much, [I] really needed it, after the experiences that I'd had, leading up to that point and I felt like I'd actually found a real friend. I guess meeting someone who had experienced [fame] for 20 years, at that level, it was very nurturing and also very drunken, which I needed, I had a lot of fun during those years."
Billie and Chris split in 2007 before the actress met Reclaim Party founder, Laurence Fox. The couple went on to have two kids together, but unlike Billie's relationship with Chris, her time with Laurence was a lot more fraught. In an interview with The Sunday Times, the former actor said he "100% wound the f**k out of her".

Speaking about his relationship with the mum-of-three, the musician told Event magazine: "She's made my life better in so many ways and I just feel I now know who I am, I know what I can do, I know where I want to be. And that's with her."
