Molly-Mae Hague has been defended by Amy Childs after she faced criticism for heading to the gym just weeks after giving birth to her first child.

The Love Island star and her boyfriend Tommy Fury welcomed their daughter Bambi on January 23 and just three weeks later, Molly-Mae announced her return to the gym.

The 23-year-old is known for her love of working out and started exercising again after claiming her bum had "tripled in size" since giving birth.

Some people hit out at Molly-Mae's decision and slammed her for "not celebrating" her post-partum body.

Amy, who is expecting twins with her partner Billy Delbosq, has now defended Molly-Mae and said it's entirely her choice.

"Trolls giving Molly-Mae Hague grief about getting back into the gym after having Bambi need to back off - it's her body.

"It's entirely up to Molly what she wants to do - whatever makes her happy," she said.

Amy admitted that while she is supportive of Molly-Mae, she won't be hitting the gym so soon after her babies are born.

"After I give birth, I've got loads of stuff going on, so I think training for me probably won't be the the first thing I'm thinking about," she wrote in her OK! column.

Amy also said she does hope to get back to the gym a few months after giving birth to her twins.

She also advised any expectant mothers to check in at the hospital to see if they're okay to train, adding that people who have a C section are advised not to exercise for 12 weeks after giving birth.

Molly-Mae was also defended by former Love Island winner Amber Gill.
