Lee Mack made a hilarious dig at Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly after winning an award for the best Quiz Game Show at the National Television Awards.

The comedian, who hosts The 1% Club, received an award for his game show against Michael McIntyer's The Wheel, Richard Osman's House Of Games and The Chase Celebrity Special. As Lee and the team got on stage to accept the award, he noticed the microphone was quite low down.

Making a quick quip, he said: "Well, I don't know who's set the microphones up but I bet they thought he was going to do the talking," as he pointed to a shorter colleague - who just smiled at his joke.

As the audience laughed, he shrugged and continued: "... Or that Ant and Dec were going to win it," before the camera panned to the Saturday Night Takeaway duo laughing in their seats. Not long after, Ant and Dec continued their NTA winning streak when they won the Best Presenter award for the 22nd year in a row.

The duo won their first award back in 2001 when they were crowned Most Popular Entertainment Presenters for their work on weekend morning kids entertainment show SMTV Live. Despite all their wins, Ant seemed shock by the award and told the audience: "Thank you, thank you so much to the National Television Awards. We've got quite a list of thank you's."

He thanked a string of people before adding: "We are the luckiest two men in TV. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts." Dec then took over and said: "Thank you to ITV. Our fantastic management team at YMU. Thank you to our lovely wives and beautiful children. I can't believe we're still getting away with this. We are as humbled as we were when we won it for the first time."

Ant concluded their speech by vowing: "We will keep doing it as long as you want us to keep doing it because we love it." Ant admitted he didn't think they would win yet another award on Tuesday night while Dec told viewers his hands were sweating in anticipation of the winners being read out.

Earlier in the evening, Ant and Dec lost out on an award as their show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! failed to scoop the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award. That gong was instead won by Channel 4 reality show Gogglebox - with a large number of cast members arriving from across the UK to accept the gong.
