KSI's jibe towards Tyson Fury sparked dad John into flipping tables at face-off

KSI's jab about Tyson Fury "ducking" Oleksandr Usyk sent the world heavyweight champion's dad into a rage which saw him flipping tables at last month's press conference.

The social media star will face Tommy Fury on October 14 at the AO Arena in Manchester, with the pair launching their fight in an event at Wembley Arena last month. And with the trash talk between both KSI and Fury and co-headliners Logan Paul and Dillon Danis heating up, Tommy's dad John took centre stage as he smashed up the set before face-offs.

And speaking a few weeks after the events of that day, Fury Sr has explained that he was tipped over the edge by a comment the YouTuber made about his son's world heavyweight title situation. KSI claimed that his son wasn't interested in facing Usyk for the undisputed title, which is a common theory among fight fans.

Amid an intense verbal battle, KSI asked Fury "Why is Tyson Fury ducking Usyk? Why is he fighting Ngannou?" And Fury told GiveMeSport this week via FreeBets.com "That is probably what sparked me off to be honest, Tyson will not duck any man in the world. Tyson is a warrior and that is what ignited the whole thing I think to be honest. I had a lot of fun that day though.

"I watched it back the next day and I didn't know what I was doing at the time, but it was a scream wasn't it. I got lost in all this carry on and let some kids wind me up, and I did what I did. My foot is still sore now. But there you are it is all for entertainment isn't it?"

A common feeling among boxing fans is that Fury has opted for the easier option in his next outing; a crossover fight with UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. There were deep talks for a bout between he and Usyk, first in Saudi Arabia and then in Wembley Stadium, but neither came to fruition.

And Fury has instead opted to head to the Middle East without his WBC title on the line to face Ngannou, who has never boxed as a professional and has been out of MMA action since January of last year. The bout will earn both men eight figure paydays, but has drawn the ire of boxing purists who want to see the heavyweight division unified for the first time in the four-belt era.

In the meantime, Usyk was forced to defend his WBA, IBF and WBO belts against Daniel Dubois last month in Poland, which he won by TKO in round nine. However, there was controversy over the finish after he was floored by a punch deemed to be low that has divided fans and experts in the aftermath.
