Love Island's Amy Hart engaged as boyfriend proposes after birth of first baby
Former Love Island star Amy Hart is engaged to her partner five months on from welcoming their first child into the world together.
Taking to Instagram this evening, Amy shared snaps of boyfriend Sam Rason's lavish proposal and told fans: "And he said…hey, whatcha doin’ the rest of your life?” Well and truly the biggest surprise ever We are so happy (literally thought I was watching show rehearsals hence why I have no shoes on-Amz x)
In the images, Amy can be seen looking bride ready as she wore a white gown during Sam's proposal, with her model beau looking dapper in a black suit. Sam popped the question in a theatre on a cruise ship amid Amy filming a podcast series for P&O cruises - with Amy explaining how the proposal went down on her Instagram Stories.
Amy went on to share her post to her Instagram Stories and add: "The BIGGEST surprise ever.... ! The woman was too stunned to speak.... so she nervously laughed and cried a bit!" The newly engaged star and Sam's happy news follows the couple becoming parents for the first time in March this year, just a year after the former flight attendant underwent fertility treatment to freeze her eggs.
Announcing son Stanley's arrival on Instagram, Amy told her followers: "Well…. 4 days of contractions at home (which everyone told us were Braxton hicks…they weren’t ), 4 very short hours in the delivery suite and 5 long days in hospital later, we are home with our dreamy baby boy born at 3.31am on 3/3/23 weighing 8lbs with the most beautiful head of hair (Amy would take the 9 months of reflux again) and we are so so in love.
Love Island's Haris spills on unaired row between Zara and Tanyel"Proper introductions to come but now we’re home safe and sound. Thank you to everyone who sent their well wishes. We really appreciated it over the last few days [here’s a few delivery room snaps, can’t wait to show you his beautiful, non-post-birth swollen face."
Amy's engagement news comes just days on from the reality TV star shutting down an Instagram user who insensitively asked the mum-of-one if she was expecting another child. The comment was made underneath Amy's cute post about son Stanley's recent christening.
In the snaps taken on the day, Amy wore a flowing white dress with blue floral patterns and a thigh-high slit as well as a blue fascinator for the event. She looked classy with simple makeup and completed the summery look with long flowing waves. The happy mum captioned the post: "Such a wonderful, family-filled day celebrating our little man! Wearing the family gown (there are discrepancies as to whether it’s 120 or 122 years old but who’s counting ) Was so amazing to bring our friends and families together and they all got on like a house on fire! More pics tomorrow as we are KNACKERED."
One fan opted not to focus on the event and took to the comment section to ask: "Are you pregnant again?" Amy took notice of the question and quipped back: "Nope still fat from the last one but thanks for asking." Amy's more sensitive fans quickly praised the star for her response.
Amy found fame when she appeared on ITV2 dating series Love Island in 2019, with some of her scenes with one-time boyfriend Curtis Pritchard still the subject of hilarious memes four years on. Sadly, Amy's stint in the villa saw her leave heartbroken, after splitting from dancer Curtis and heading home on Day 37.
However, Amy got her happy ending in the real world and found love with now fiance Sam - admitting she knew her future husband was marriage material after just two dates with the model in 2021. After just two months together, Amy gave Sam a key to her home and things got serious quickly.
"My family, we are very impulsive people. My mom and dad got engaged after eight weeks, got married within a year, had a baby the following year... So everyone is like, "He's nice, marry him'," Amy confessed to OK! magazine in a joint interview with her then boyfriend last year.
Prior to settling down with Sam, Amy spent £12,000 on freezing her eggs in a bid to increase her chances of having children before falling pregnant with son Stanley. She previously revealed doctors had instructed her not to get pregnant as she has human papillomavirus (HPV) and they wanted to remove abnormal cells from her cervix before the star conceived a child.
