Eagles star shows off Travis Scott-inspired cleats for NFL season opener
Week 1 of the NFL season is fast approaching and Philadelphia Eagles star Kenneth Gainwell plans to mark the occasion with a flashy pair of cleats inspired by rapper Travis Scott.
The running back will line up against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium on September 10 and he will do so in style thanks to a custom pair of footwear paying homage to Scott's latest album "Utopia".
Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II, is not only at the forefront of music but also fashion, with his 2023 album coinciding with a sneaker line produced by Nike, including Air Force 1s and Air Jordans.
The Air Jordans have inspired Gainwell's extravagant footwear for Week 1, with famed cleat modifier Rodney Jackson creating a pair of Nike cleats that resemble the sneakers.
"I wanted to capture every detail of the shoe and the right leather texture," Jackson told TMZ Sports about the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG Olive F&F cleats.

Texas native Scott is one of the biggest rap stars on the planet, with four number-one singles on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, including "Sicko Mode", "Highest In The Room" and "Franchise". He appeared in the Super Bowl half-time show in 2019 alongside Maroon 5.
Gainwell, meanwhile, is expected to play a prominent role in the Eagles' offense this season after the departure of last year's leading rusher Miles Sanders to the Carolina Panthers. The 24-year-old, who was a fifth-round pick in 2021, has 10 touchdowns to his name through two NFL seasons and he is hopeful of making a third-year leap.

"I feel really good, I feel comfortable knowing that we all have a big role on this team to get back to the goal, but we've got to take it one day at a time and work hard each and every day to get to our goal," Gainwell said on Thursday.
