Love Island star Millie Court has made a candid confession about dealing with the aftermath of her break-up with Liam Reardon.

The pair, who met on the ITV reality dating show in 2021, announced their shock split in summer last year. With fans of the couple left devastated, speculation grew about the reason behind the break-up, with many guessing it was down to infidelity. After buying a £1m mansion in Millie's home county of Essex together after a few months, they went all in on the relationship, only to call it a day a year later.

But now the loved-up stars are back together after rekindling their romance, Millie has opened up about the aftermath of the split.

In an interview with Mail Online, Millie revealed how she needed professional help to deal with what had happened.

The 26-year-old told the paper: "Do you know what for me it was hard to speak to people I knew, like friends and family, because I felt like they couldn't relate, because they obviously hadn't gone through the things I'd been through, in the sense of meeting someone on a show and all of this experience and then going through a breakup.

"It was a lot and I felt like speaking to someone who had absolutely no idea who I was or what had happened and getting fresh eyes and ears on the situation to get their outlook on it."

Millie, who admitted she thought part of what caused them to split the first time around was that they moved in together too soon, said that therapy helped her come to terms with the life changes she'd had.

Adding she found it "really helpful" to get impartial advice, she said: "Sometimes your parents can be quite biased because they know you and they want the best for you and their opinions are a bit skewed, so it's good to get a therapist's views on things."

Millie urged others to speak to someone if they feel they "need to speak to someone", adding there should be no embarrassment in accepting help and 'chatting' with a therapist.
