Ian Maatsen was seen celebrating after opting to stay at Chelsea despite interest from Burnley.

Maatsen, who has been on the Blues' books since his teens, impressed on loan at Turf Moor last season as Vincent Kompany's side won promotion back to the Premier League. The Clarets had an offer accepted, with a £31.5m deal in mind, but the Dutchman said no.

Mauricio Pochettino has welcomed Maatsen into the senior side this season, handing the 21-year-old his Premier League debut in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool in August. While Burnley were clearly keen on the Dutch under-21 star, his own preference has been made clear.

In a video shared on social media, Maatsen can be seen confirming his plans. "I'm still here, up the Blues!" he says, after the video begins with Sky Sports News footage.

Burnley did get some late business done, though, with Han-Noah Massengo joining from Bristol City and Logan Pye arriving from Manchester United. FA Youth Cup winner Pye will link up with the Clarets' under-21 squad to begin with.

Chelsea had some ins and outs of their own on deadline day. Cole Palmer completed a £42.5m move from Manchester City and Callum Hudson-Odoi joined Nottingham Forest for £5m, while others left on loan.

Mason Burstow, Bashir Humphreys and Diego Moreira have all made matchday squads this term, with Pochettino calling on the academy talents early on. Burstow and Humphreys will spend the season in the Championship, at Sunderland and Swansea respectively, while Moreira will get a taste of Ligue 1 with Lyon.

It marks the end of a busy summer, where Chelsea also recouped more than £200m after offloading Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Edouard Mendy and more. There is still time for further movement if clubs from the Saudi Pro League attempt to get more business done before their deadline lands on September 7.

"We knew that there were going to be players coming in and players going out, it was going to be difficult to change the squad in the way that they wanted to change," Pochettino said ahead of this weekend's meeting with Nottingham Forest. Both of last season's meetings between the side ended all square, with Raheem Sterling netting twice in the Stamford Bridge clash.

"We offer our support and we work really hard on the training ground to try to minimise the impact of the players that arrive with no training, injured or were not competing in the last few weeks," he added. "Young players that need to know the Premier League coming from playing outside of England. Many things that we are focused on working to minimise the negative impact."

Forest have also been busy ahead of their trip to west London. Steve Cooper's men added several deadline day arrivals, including midfielder Ibrahim Sangare and goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos, though they lost forward Brennan Johnson to Spurs.
