Divock Origi is set to return to the Premier League on transfer deadline day with THREE clubs fighting to sign the former Liverpool star.

The Belgian international spent seven years as a Liverpool player after signing for Brendan Rodgers in 2015, scoring 41 times in 175 club appearances. Some of those goals will go down in club folklore, including a double against Barcelona in the famous Champions League semi final comeback in the 2018/19 season.

He also went on to score in the final win over Spurs, and his injury time winner against Everton that season also cemented his status as a firm fan favourite. Origi, 28, eventually left Liverpool last summer for AC Milan, but failed to hold down a regular starting place with the Serie A side.

He made 36 appearances for the Italian giants in all competitions, the majority of which came from the bench. He scored just twice, and often cut a discontented figure in red and black.

And having been placed on the transfer list, now a return to England is on the cards. Sky Sports Italy is reporting that Origi will fly to the UK on deadline day and is set to hold talks with a trio of top flight clubs.

Burnley, Fulham and Nottingham Forest are all pursuing the striker, who has 32 caps at international level. All three sides are in need of a new forward, with the race for his signature set to go down to the wire.

Sheffield United had also previously been linked with the player, but have since dropped out of the frame. And the sudden Premier League interest may raise a wry smile from former boss Jurgen Klopp, who previously expressed his surprise he didn't receive more enquiries for the player when he was under his guidance.

HAVE YOUR SAY! Will Divock Origi still score goals in the Premier League? Comment below.

"If I was at another team I would have gone for him," Klopp once said. "Just because you are not playing for Liverpool does not mean you are not good. Top striker and a top boy. He has already scored some of the most important goals in the history of this club."

Origi still has three years left on his contract at Milan, so any permanent move will command a fee. But with last season's Champions League semi finalists seemingly keen to offload him, none of the chasing trio are expected to be priced out of a bid.
