Arsenal fans can ready themselves for a number of departures as the transfer window enters the final 24 hours.

Having splashed out more than £200 million this summer, Mikel Arteta appeared to get his business done early. But he now needs to trim his bloated squad, with Kieran Tierney one high-profile departure this week having joined Real Sociedad on loan, while Folarin Balogun has finally joined Monaco for a £40 million fee.

And once 11pm passes on Friday evening, the Spanish boss can then turn his full focus to Sunday's huge home clash with Manchester United. The game has taken on extra significance for the Gunners after they dropped points against Fulham last weekend. Here's the latest from the Emirates.

Ex-Arsenal starlet leaves Leeds

Former Arsenal star Sam Greenwood has left Leeds United to join Michael Carrick at Middlesbrough. The forward, 21, has signed a season-long loan deal with the Championship side after leaving Elland Road. He will hope to help his new side recover from a poor start to the new campaign - with Boro yet to win a league game despite starting among the promotion favourites.

Greenwood started out in Sunderland’s youth ranks before moving to Arsenal in 2018 at the age of 16 for a reported fee of around £500,000, rejecting the chance to join Manchester United. But despite being touted for big things he failed to make a senior appearances for the north London club.

Kieran Tierney has insisted that he has no issue with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta after being shipped out on loan to Real Sociedad. After his move was confirmed, Tierney told reporters: "I left because last season I couldn't play a lot and what I wanted was to play a lot of games and I wanted to try to do it at Real. I don't have any problem with Arsenal.

"Knowing that Real wanted to have me here, feeling all the love from the people here was very good. Being in the Basque Country, having the experience of living here and playing in La Liga, is something I am very proud of. I hope things are going very well for me here."

Magalhaes drops Saudi hint

Gabriel Magalhaes dropped a hint over his Arsenal future on Thursday evening amid links over a move to Saudi Arabia. The Brazilian defender has been rumoured to be under consideration to be the next big-name star to move over to the Gulf state. However, he appears to be fully committed to the Gunners.

He took to Instagram with a picture of himself in Arsenal training gear with the caption: "Ready to write a new story!!!" Mikel Arteta would have been relieved to see the upload amid the long-term injury to Jurrien Timber.
