Love Island's Amy Day has been rushed to hospital with a gruesome finger injury.

The 27-year-old was taken to A&E on Tuesday as she uploaded photos from her visit to hospital after ripping her fake nail off her finger. She shared the ordeal with her 99,000 Instagram followers, posting a picture of her wearing black stilettos writing: "Perfect A&E footwear. Just perfect."

She then went on to explain why she was in hospital with a photo of her little finger wrapped in bandages and writing: "Having my nail ripped off was definitely not on my agenda today but hey." But Amy seemed to find the funny side of the injury saying: "Who wants to write on it?"

Amy first found fame on season seven of Love Island, going into the villa as a Casa Amor bombshell in 2021. She coupled up with Hugo Hammond however it didn't last and they didn't end on the best of terms.

In scenes filmed a few days after they left the villa, Amy called Hugo out for his behaviour, saying: "It's the Hugo show, that's all it is. I think we need to clear up a few things because I feel like I had my time wasted a little bit, staying with you." She added: "I thought there was something there. We leave the villa, and you just flipped and friend-zoned me. You've come across quite fake now."

Hugo fired back: "I completely disagree with you on that front." He later added: "We had the chat in there about how we had come to a cross road on our journey and I think that was clear to both of us but apparently not."

However, Amy went on to say that she wasn't "part of that conversation". Hugo went on to appear on ITV's Lorraine: "That was more of a reflection of my journey in there. Obviously I’d been there for so long.

"I’d tried it with quite a few girls and then some bombshells came in for me and didn’t work out, so that wasn’t a reflection of Ames herself but more a reflection of me and my journey, and what I’d been through in there."
