Michael Myers actor George P Wilbur dies as Halloween co-star pays tribute
Hollywood stuntman George P Wilbur, who played Michael Myers in the Halloween film franchise, had died at the age of 81.
Fellow Halloween stuntman Christopher Durand announced the news on Facebook, writing: "George P. Wilbur passed away last night. George, you were a class act and well loved. You will be missed."
George died on Wednesday night, with tributes now pouring in for the star.
Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers screenwriter Daniel Farrands commented: "Very sad to hear of George’s passing. He was such a kind soul and a beloved member of the Halloween family."
Actor Spencer Charnas tweeted: "RIP to one of my favorite Michael Myers actors of all time, George P. Wilbur.

One fan wrote: "George Wilbur has always been one of my favorite versions of Michael Myers and I'm sad to hear he passed away."

A third fan paid tribute to George, writing: "Rest In Peace to the great George P. Wilbur - legendary stuntman and Michael Myers actor in #Halloween 4 and 6.
"Never got to meet him myself, but I've only ever heard really kind things about him. He will be missed."
George's career spanned across six decades and he worked on films including Escape from the Planet of the Apes, Die Hard and Ghostbusters II.
He also worked on horror films including Poltergeist, The Silence of the Lambs and Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child.
For many fans, he will be remembered as one of the best actors to wear the iconic Michael Myers mask in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers.
The stuntman started his career as a stand-in-actor for John Wayne after working as an extra in the 1966 film El Dorado.
George is survived by his daughter Gena Wilbur. His cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
