Celebrities were fuming after being left 'trapped' abroad following the travel delay chaos caused by the UK's air traffic control system.

Hundreds of thousands of passengers were left stranded after the network-wide outage on bank holiday Monday, which caused more than 1,200 flights to be cancelled. The National Air Traffic Services (Nats) claimed it had ‘identified and remedied’ the technical issue on Monday afternoon, but many famous faces were still stuck abroad – with Gabby Logan 'trapped' on the tarmac.

Dawn O'Porter was also affected, complaining her bank holiday had been a "s**t show". So, as we brace ourselves for the drama to continue as airlines struggle to clear the backlog, here's some of the famous faces who got caught up in the chaos.

Gabby Logan

Gabby Logan sent a message on her official X, formerly known as Twitter, account revealing she could be stuck in Hungary for the rest of the day after trying to fly home on Bank Holiday. She told her followers: "On a plane on the runway at Budapest airport. After almost 3 weeks away from home I am hours from hugging my family. And have just been told UK airspace is shut. We could be here for 12 hours. So we sit on the plane and wait."

The mum-of-two followed up with a couple of further posts, but still found time to make a joke at her expense, quipping: "Nb It’s allowing traffic in there’s already airborne but nothing else to take off," she wrote. "Now regretting my decision to miss breakfast."

Hours later it looked like Gabby was on her way home as she shared: "A happy travel story, we are boarded and headed home". However, the BBC Sport star then updated her post saying: "I spoke too soon" with a head in the hands emoji. Replying to her update late last night, one of her followers asked: "Still in Budapest? We are."

Dawn O'Porter

Also caught up in the chaos was presenter Dawn O'Porter. On Monday afternoon, the mum-of-two took to Instagram to share her "s**t" experience from Spain and ask for advice. She asked: "Anyone with any knowledge know if there is any chance of landing at Gatwick today? Should I go through security or not? THAT IS THE QUESTION. On my own with the kids so deffo don’t want to be stuck there for the night. Obvs no one here knows anything." Sorry for everyone travelling today. Such bull***t."

Dawn, who is married to Bridesmaids star Chris O’Dowd, 43, with whom she shares two sons – Art, eight, and six-year-old Valentine, later updated her followers, saying: "Looks like I’ll be in Mallorca for a while. What a s**t show. Thanks everyone. I hope you all get home OK." Thankfully, Dawn was able to make light of the situation, as she concluded her post: "I’m heading back to the island to find wine."

Radio One DJ Jordan North was livid he was stuck out in Malaga, not least because the airport had run out of his favourite tipple.

Taking to Instagram with a snap of two empty Cruz Campo and Heineken beer taps, he told his followers: "Delayed at Malaga airport for possibly ‘many hours’, and they’ve ran out of beer at the terminal!"

After seeing his post, an air traffic controller working in the UK, replied: "As an air traffic controller at Swanwick, I feel personally responsible. (Not working until tonight though!) I’m so sorry Jordan. Please find more beer, " followed by a love emoji. Later, Jordan shared a snap of himself on the plane, looking thoroughly fed up, with the caption: "Get me home!"

But four hours later, she posted an update, sharing: "Ok maybe we're not going away as our flight has been delayed until 1am...' The reality star then shared she'd had a "guzzle of breast milk" because she was so thirsty, saying: "I'm sure it's actually v good for me so may continue to drink it lol." Unfortunately, after two more hours passed, Montana revealed: "OK so flight has been cancelled." Strictly Come Dancing's Ore Oduba and his wife, Portia, say they've been left "stranded" in Greece following the ongoing air traffic control chaos.

Taking to Instagram, mum-of-two Portia, explained her family was due to travel back to London, Gatwick on Monday, however sharing a picture of her son and daughter, Roman and Genie, looking out at the grounded easyJet planes from the airport, she revealed they were stuck in Greece with no nappies for the couple's young children.

She shared: "So currently ‘stranded’ in Greece with no flight home. No nappies and no clean knickers. @easyjet have cancelled all flights leaving till Sunday. But it’s ok. They’ve offered us a voucher for the next time we fly. Maybe we can fly home on that, magic carpet style.” She then added: “I better sharpen up on my Greek as at this rate we are going to become citizens.”

Tyler West

Another Strictly Come Dancing star affected by the air traffic control fiasco was Tyler West. The 27-year-old DJ told his followers he spent a staggering 36 hours trying to get back from Rotterdam on Monday.

Sharing a snap of himself, looking exhausted, wearing a bucket hat, the Kiss Fm star posted: “We are stranded at Rotterdam because of something going on with the flights to the UK.” Tyler then revealed he had decided to get the train home with his pals, but unfortunately that also ended up being delayed because of a 'drunken brawl'. “So we’re being held at Brussels because two people had too much to drink and had a fight," he shared, wearily.

Thankfully, Tyler eventually made it back to London, telling everyone who had followed his epic journey: “36 hours after we originally set off and now we are in London town, not even home but I am back. I’m delirious, I just want my bed.”

Christine McGuinness

Christine McGuinness was also caught up in the travel chaos after taking her "babies" Leo, Penelope and Felicity on holiday abroad. However, The Games star seemed philosophical about the experience as she took to Instagram, sharing a clip of herself from her hotel suite in front of a gorgeous-looking sunset.

She captioned the picture-perfect photo, in which she smiled, sporting a white waffle bath robe: "Stranded due to network failures across UK airports, no idea when we can get a flight home but I feel very lucky, we found a place to stay and I get extra time to make more memories with my babies. I trust in the universe. I had jobs booked all week, a million things to do at home getting ready to prep for 'back to school' but... we were meant to stay longer, we have more memories to make, time with my babies is priceless. I actually feel very grateful, we're not home, but we have everything we need."
