The last bank holiday before Christmas is coming up - and like many other supermarket chains, Morrisons will be changing its opening times for the day.

The August bank holiday will give many people across England, Wales and Northern Ireland three days off this weekend, with bank holiday Monday falling on August 28. Whether you're planning a BBQ or not, chances are you may still need to pick up some last-minute bits.

We have compiled a guide to the times Morrisons will open on Monday - but this is just a rough estimate. Morrisons opening times vary across the UK so you should always check your local supermarket before you head down. You can use Morrisons' store finder tool to find out where your nearest store is and what hours they will be open on Monday.

Morrisons August 2023 bank holiday opening times

Morrisons' weekend opening times on Saturday and Sunday will remain as normal and the only change will be seen on Monday, August 28. On a typical weekday or Saturday, Morrisons stores are open from either 6am or 7am and close 10pm or 11pm.

On Sundays, Morrisons in England and Wales are usually only open for six hours, from 10am until 4pm or 11am until 5pm. Morrisons Sunday opening hours will also remain the same this weekend. In Scotland, stores are normally open 8am until 8pm - some can even be open until 10pm.

On bank holiday Monday (August 29) the majority of Morrisons stores will be open from 7am until 8pm in England and Wales. Morrisons in Scotland will be open under their usual opening hours of 7am until 10pm on Monday. This is because the bank holiday in Scotland was celebrated earlier in the month on August 7.

For drivers, Morrisons forecourts will be open from 6am until 9pm on bank holiday Monday, so you will be able to fill up on petrol until late on Monday evening. Like other major chains, Morrisons also has smaller convenience stores called Morrisons Daily. These stores appear to open as normal on the August bank holiday. The majority of the smaller sites will be open from 6am or 7am until 10pm or 11pm on Monday.

However, you should be aware that some Morrisons Daily stores are franchised so are run by a third party rather than Morrisons themselves. Franchised sites can set their own opening times and could differ from other Morrisons stores. The franchised stores are highlighted on the Morrisons store locator.
