Meghan Markle has been described as having "grace, strength, and purpose" as she faces an "unbearable" backlash.

The Duchess of Sussex has had a rough few months, after she and Prince Harry faced the end of their exclusive $25million (£19.6million) deal with Spotify. Following the end of the partnership, one top Spotify executive even called the couple "f***ing grifters".

Meghan was then pictured wearing what looked like a wellness patch, beloved by A-list celebrities. The drug-free treatment boosts gaba neurotransmitters, reduces stress hormones and improves sleep, according to its makers NuCalm.

Now, award-winning actress Audra McDonald has heaped praise on Meghan for being able to deal with a huge amount of "vitriol". Audra named Meghan as the person she most admires.

"I don't know how she continues to walk through this world with the grace, strength, and purpose that she does given the unbearable amount of vitriol and hate she has been subjected to, but she does. I wish she didn't have to," Audra told Vanity Fair.

Audra's comments come amid reports Meghan has been leaning on her gal pals to overcome her stressors. She was recently seen attending a Taylor Swift concert with her neighbour Portia De Rossi and enjoying an alfresco lunch with friends.

Meghan's friends were said to be a "lifeline" to her during this difficult time. The Duchess of Sussex was also reported to be using coping mechanisms such as meditation, yoga and exercise.

Speaking about the claims, relationship expert Louella Alderson told The Mirror it's "no surprise that she has been leaning on her friends for support." Louella said friendships can provide "immense value, particularly in times of hardship"

She explained: "When faced with challenges, friends can offer emotional and practical support. They can provide comfort, empathy, understanding and solidarity in difficult times."

Louella suggested Meghan's friends will be ensuring she doesn't feel alone in her struggles. The expert, who co-founded the So Syncd dating app, added: "Friends can often offer unique perspectives that help us see things from different angles and come up with solutions that we may not have thought of on our own."
