Three women were shot before a Vanilla Ice concert in front of horrified crowds at Chicago White Sox stadium.

Police scanner audio confirmed that there were three female victims, one of whom was grazed in the chest. The audio contains authorities saying repeatedly that there was "a lot of blood". The horror incident took place in section 162 of the stand at Guaranteed Rate Fields.

"There's blood in section 162 of the White Sox stadium park," an officer on the scanner announces before clarifying that the authorities are "still working on getting all the details." The "Ice Ice Baby" hitmaker's concert was cancelled amid technical difficulties and the shots fired.

He continued: "Another victim is at the University of Chicago [a hospital] right now, and we're on our way. We're going to get her information in a minute. She was shot in the leg. There was supposedly a lot of blood."

"One victim got hit by the bullet, but there were no injuries to her," he concluded. He also said there were "live rounds recovered," which field security had taken to one of the gates.

A SWAT team was allegedly called in and arrived moments after the gunshots were reported to the authorities.

One of the attendees told ABC 7 that he had been sitting a mere two rows behind where the shooting occurred. He didn't hear anything, however, or see what had happened.

He did not that a woman appeared to be bleeding from her leg seconds later. It also looked like two others were injured from the incident, he said.

"All of a sudden, security was there, and they kicked us out," he told the local news outlet. They were herded to another section, where they reportedly remained for around 45 minutes.

The Friday evening game was supposed to be followed by a '90s-themed concert, with headliners Vanilla Ice, Rob Base and Tone Loc slated to perform.

Minutes after the shooting, a message flashed across the billboard, which read: "Attention Fans. Due to technical issues, tonight's postgame concert has been cancelled. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Fans holding on-field passes will receive a refund to the original purchaser's credit card."

Many were furious that the concert had been cancelled, taking to Twitter, now known as X, to express their frustration.

"My sister suffered through a damn White Sox-As game for a Vanilla Ice, Rob Base and Tone Loc post-game concert and this just happened. Honestly, cancel the rest of the season. They can’t do anything right," wrote @SarahSpain.

"They just canceled the concert… That’s so White Sox #SellTheTeam," tweeted @CheapSeats411.

The hashtag #SellTheTeam was similar to a chant another eyewitness to the evening's events told ABC 7 the crowd started shouting following the news that the concert would be cancelled.

"Everyone started booing, going crazy and saying derogatory things," Rod Moyers told the outlet. "Then, about five minutes later, they put up a note on the screen saying it was cancelled due to technical issues. Everyone booed. No one was leaving. Some people said they should storm the field. Then the whole crowd started chanting, 'Sell the team!'"
