Tom Parker's widow Kelsey hits back at mum-shamers after holiday with young kids

Kelsey Parker, widow of The Wanted singer Tom Parker, revealed she was hit with negative comments from mum-shamers during a recent holiday.

The mum-of-two, 33, welcomed three-year-old Aurelia and two-year-old Bodhi into the world with late husband Tom prior to his tragic death last year. The Glad You Came singer was 33 years old when he died in March 2022, after being diagnosed with a type of brain tumour called a glioblastoma (GBM) in October 2020.

Kelsey joined Kaye Adams, Jane Moore and Sunetra Sarker as a guest panelist for this week's final edition of Loose Women today, with the mum-of-two opening up about "signs" she receives from her late husband Tom one year on from Chasing The Sun singer's death.

During a discussion about if the Loose Women panelists care about what other people think of them, Kelsey revealed she had been hit with unsolicited advice and criticism from Instagram users as she shared snaps and videos online from a recent camping trip with her young kids.

"I just don't understand [trolling]," Kelsey began when sharing her thoughts on judgemental comments with her fellow panelists. "I get a lot of mum-shaming. So, the other day we were on holiday and Bodhi was getting pulled along on a scooter and I got loads of messages telling me he should be wearing a helmets. I just think its so...." Kelsey revealed, as Sunetra added: "It's none of their business!"

Posting to Instagram ahead of appearing on the ITV show today, Kelsey paid tribute to her late husband and shared a glimpse at a special mug given to her by the show which features Tom's name and the Loose Women logo. Captioning the post, Kelsey wrote: "I was so proud of Tom whenever he made appearances on shows like Loose Women and now I’m on there myself – he’d be so proud and I know he’s playing a part in all of this, making it happen! Please keep sending me these opportunities babe, I’m really enjoying them!"

Speaking about receiving "signs" from Tom on the panel today, Kelsey admitted she has become a more spiritual person since the Glad You Came singer passed away last year. She recalled how Tom, who had always been quite spiritual, was "always scared of dying" even before being diagnosed with a tumour three years before his death.

"Even when Tom died at the hospice, i went downstairs just after he passed away and I was on the phone to my friend Evie, who is a witch," Kelsey recalled as her fellow panelists laughed at the casual way she mentioned her friend dabbles in Wicca. "Literally, a feather dropped from the sky," Kelsey continued.

The mum-of-two went on to remember how she took the white feather as a sign from Tom, saying: "There was nothing around me, no trees, and a feather dropped from the sky. It gave me peace from Tom as a sign from him telling me: 'I'm okay Kels - it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be."

*Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV from 12.30pm
