A body language expert has claimed that Donald Trump is attempting to be "intimidating" and "defiant" to the courts in his newly released mugshot.

Former cop Darren Stanton also believes the mugshot shows the former President believes he will be acquitted of all charges. Stanton, who has a degree in Psychology and has appeared on The One Show and This Morning, drew these conclusions from Trump’s eyes and eyebrow positioning. He described Trump as “easy to read” as he “wears his heart on his chest”.

Trump’s mugshot was taken when he was arrested at Fulton County jail in Atlanta on fraud charges - following his interference in the 2020 election and accusations of inciting violence from his supporters. It is the first time a US President has ever had a mugshot taken.

Stanton notes the eye contact which is “held fixed right into the lens”, and says this was “clearly decided on by Trump to show his accusers and the world that he is showing defiance and he believes he will be acquitted of his charges”.

The next notable feature in the mugshot, Stanton explains, is the eyebrows which are “pulled together and pulled down”. He said: “This is the emergence of anger/defiance expression. We get this intense stare, so emotionally he is showing anger, defiance and denial.”

“I teach officers and people in frontline security this emotion, people who could be potentially dealing with volatile people. That is how we would practically apply this observation in the real world,” Stanton added according to BitcoinCasinos. Furthermore, Trump’s forward head tilt in the photo is designed to “make his glare even more intimidating to his accusers”.

It comes as Trump’s former national security advisor made similar comments, describing the picture as “carefully staged, as with most things Trump does”. Bolton believes it was “intended to be a sign of intimidation against the prosecutors and the judges” and said Trump deliberately looks like a “thug”.

Yesterday’s arrest was the fourth round of charges brought against Trump following others in New York City, Miami and Washington DC. His height, 6ft 3inches (190.5cm), and his weight of 97.5kg, were pre-recorded and entered on booking forms. Trump’s prisoner ID number is P01135809, the Daily Mail reported.

Trump was released after paying 10 percent of the $200,000 bail after only 20 minutes in the facility. It came after he missed the first debate in the Republican primaries - in which the GOP choose the presidential candidate for the 2024 election.

Eight contenders were on stage - including Trump’s former Vice President Mike Pence. But Trump opted instead to do an interview with Tucker Carlson on X - formerly Twitter - in an apparent attempt to attract attention away from the debate.

Six of the candidates in the debate said they would support Trump if he wins the primary even if he is convicted. Asa Hutchinson and Chris Christie were those who said they would not support Trump.

Bolton believes those who will stand by Trump gave the “wrong answers” and that Trump should “step aside”. He said: “You cannot believe in a law-and-order philosophy and say it applies to everybody except Donald Trump. In any sane society, somebody who's a convicted felon should step aside.”

Bolton has previously attacked Trump and his record, describing him as useless on foreign policy and as a dangerous presence in the Oval Office, in his tell-all memoir The Room Where It Happened. Despite voting for Trump in 2016, Bolton didn’t in 2020 and also will not in 2024, should Trump be the Republican candidate.

Trump’s most recent 41-count charge was a RICO - Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organisations - charge. This is typically used against cartel and mafia bosses. Other charges included solicitation of violation of oath by a public officer; conspiracy to commit forgery in the first-degree; perjury, and others.
