Donald Trump's private jet has finally landed in Atlanta — and in a matter of minutes, he turned himself in to the authorities to be arrested for a fourth time. A mugshot was also be taken of the former US president.

He surrendered at the disgusting Rice Street Fulton County Jail, which is known for its violence and nasty living conditions. At the end of last year, a man died, and his body was found in the toilet, covered in lice. He was allegedly eaten alive by insects.

The mugshot taken of the former president became the first in American history, and the official court document that accompanied it deemed him 6 foot 3 inches and 215 pounds, with blue eyes and strawberry or blonde hair.

The Republican frontrunner for the 2024 presidential election, as well as 18 of his closest cronies, were slammed earlier this month with over 40 felonies, with 13 of them attributable to Trump.

The charges relate to Trump's illegal scheme to overturn the 2020 presidential election — a race he lost to incumbent President Joe Biden. Georgia was a turning point in that race, just narrowly garnering the Democrat the victory.

It's the fourth indictment of the businessman, who was previously charged at the federal level for similar crimes related to election fraud and who also faces charges for stashing classified documents at Mar-a-Lago, his Florida estate, and for paying hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels.

Others charged in the Georgia indictment include former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and his former chief of staff Mark Meadows.

Trump's plane, a Boeing 757, landed in Atlanta just after 7pm, and videos show the businessman's motorcade driving through rush-hour traffic to reach the jail. He occasionally gave thumbs ups and small smiles as he rode.

He arrived around 7.40pm with his motorcade and surrendered. He was not the first to surrender to the jail, however — Giuliani surrendered on Wednesday, and Meadows gave himself up the day prior. They each had $100,000 bonds.

Trump's bond was set at $200,000 and was paid by a bond company, Foster Bail Bonds LLC, based in Lawrenceville. It allowed him to be released within minutes of getting booked.

The mugshot reveals him glaring at the camera, visibly upset with his predicament, donning his signature red tie and white shirt. He held a press conference after the ordeal, as well, in which he addressed his feelings on the events of the day.

"What has taken place here is a travesty of justice. We did nothing wrong. I did nothing wrong, and everybody knows it," he said, reiterating his stance that the election was "stolen" and that he had done nothing wrong.

"There's never been anything like it in our country before. This is their way of campaigning. This is their one instance and you have three other instances," he added.

The ordeal has seemingly bolstered his own campaign, however, by drawing the eyes of the public away from his Republican competitors and onto him. He's also been using his mugshot as a way to fundraise for his campaign.
