Love Island's Maya Jama's double joy as she lands job as host for US spin-off

It's been a good few weeks for Maya Jama as she lands the job she wanted on Love Island's US all-star spin off - having reportedly secured a huge pay rise after impressing ITV bosses as the show's new host.

The 29-year-old presenter took over from Laura Whitmore when the winter series of the dating show aired in January before fitting in perfectly this summer. Maya is now heading to Fiji as she gets set to host the latest version of the ITV2 dating show. Love Island Games, coming in November, stands as the inaugural off-shoot of the popular programme.

The show brings beloved Islanders from various international editions, including America, the UK, Australia and more together to compete for a second chance at love. Fans can't wait to see who goes in, with Luca Bish just one of the names said to be in the frame.

All her hard work – which includes pulling in higher viewing figures for AfterSun than the actual Love Island show – looks to have paid off. Now it is claimed she is set to be offered a staggering £750,000 pay packet to stay on as host for the next series, something her reps have refused to discuss.

“ITV absolutely love Maya – she’s gone down a storm with viewers and is perfect with her fun banter and flirty style,” a source told The Sun. “Execs see her as part of the ongoing success of the show so are preparing a pay increase when it comes to renewing her contract ahead of the of the next series. She’s one of their hottest commodities and they’re determined to keep her happy." They added that Maya really enjoys hosting and that it's a "dream job" that's allowed her to do other projects.

As well as her presenting work, the Bristol-born star – who originally wanted to be an actress and model – has landed a number of lucrative fashion and beauty deals. She is the face of Rimmel London make-up and has modelled for the likes of Self-Portrait – and last week was announced as the new campaign star for Dolce & Gabbana.

In a self-confessed ‘pinch me’ moment, Maya has also landed the cover of fashion bible Vogue in August. Admitting she “burst into tears” after getting the call from the prestigious magazine, Maya – who is already thought to be worth £3 million – said it was a “life dream of mine”.

Sharing snaps from the Vogue shoot – including one where she goes topless – Maya excitedly told fans: "Honestly. An absolute madness. We shot this months ago & it still hasn’t sunk in. The cover of Vogue.. little me on my own shot by the greatest to ever do it @stevenmeiselofficial.

“I burst into tears as soon as I got the call, this was a life dream of mine that I wasn’t sure would ever even happen because it just has never happened, the only other “tv host” (if you can even call her that) that I’ve ever seen on a vogue cover is Oprah which makes it even more wild & coming from where I come from it is just unheard of.”

Maya recently issued a sassy comeback to a troll after she was criticised for her “drinking and partying.” The presenter has been living it up in Ibiza on an action-packed holiday while celebrating her birthday and shared a slew of snaps from her time away with her 2.9 million Instagram followers on Tuesday.
