Inside derelict pub used by Myra Hindley and Ian Brady with 'Banksy mural'
A pub often frequented by Moors murderers Myra Hindley and Ian Brady rots away, decades after the last pint was poured.
Images show what remains of the haunting Horse and Jockey Pub with a filing cabinet, plug socket and gas canisters remain in tact even after a fire ripped through the property in 2007. The derelict boozer in Saddleworth, Oldham, now has a rumoured Banksy butterfly mural on its walls
The building is still standing, more than 50 years after evil killers Hindley and Brady were said to have spent their evenings drinking together before carrying out their wicked crimes. The pub was abandoned in the early 2000's and there is still no sign of bulldozers.
Photos were capture by urban explorer Kyle Urbex who had to visit the property with such a famous history. "The Horse & Jockey situated alongside the main A62 road from Huddersfield to Oldham, Constructed in the 1930's and opening in 1937 the pub served many locals travelling from Oldham to Huddersfield and visa versa," he said.

They carried out a total of five murders between July 1963 and October 1965.

"They were both arrested in 1965 and were convicted and sentenced to spend the rest of their life in prison with no chance to ever be released until the day they died. The Horse & Jockey remained open until around the early 2000's and in 2007 a blaze ripped through the derelict pub causing irreparable damage to the entire structure leaving it deemed unfit and unsafe.
"Shortly after the fire the iconic graffiti sprawled across the front of the building appeared although it is unknown who is responsible for the artwork some people believe Banksy is behind the art but this has never been proved. The graffiti of the Red Admiral wings included alongside the respective roses of Lancashire and Yorkshire and the butterfly.
"The welcome of a real fire, Put another log on the fire, Actually put them all on" the pub has remained in a state of disrepair ever since and has now been taken over by nature and left to rot. I was really looking forward to this one although it is nothing but ruins and bricks with no more internal features after the fire. The history behind this speaks more than the exploration.

The famous butterfly mural on the front of the building is believed to be painted by Banksy but this has never been proved.
The Moors murderers' victims were five children, Pauline Reade, John Kilbride, Keith Bennett, Lesley Ann Downey, and Edward Evans, aged between 10 and 17, at least four of whom were sexually assaulted.
The bodies of two of the victims were discovered in 1965, in graves dug on Saddleworth Moor; a third grave was discovered there in 1987, more than twenty years after Brady and Hindley's trial. Bennett's body is also thought to be buried there, but despite repeated searches it remains undiscovered.
Some believe it is home to Banksy's artwork (mediadrumimages/Kyle Urbex)The pair were charged only for the murders of Kilbride, Downey and Evans, and received life sentences under a whole life tariff. The investigation was reopened in 1985 after Brady was reported as having confessed to the murders of Reade and Bennett. In 1987 Hindley had stopped claiming her innocence and confessed to all of the murders.
After confessing to these additional murders, Brady and Hindley were taken separately to Saddleworth Moor to assist in the search for the graves. Characterised by the press as "the most evil woman in Britain", Hindley made several appeals against her life sentence, claiming she was a reformed woman and no longer a danger to society, but was never released.
She died in 2002 in West Suffolk Hospital, aged 60, after serving 36 years in prison. Brady was diagnosed as a psychopath in 1985 and confined in the high-security Ashworth Hospital. He made it clear that he never wished to be released and repeatedly asked to be allowed to die. He died in 2017, at Ashworth, aged 79, having served 51 years.
