Logan Paul faces off with new opponent as Dillon Danis face-off cancelled

Logan Paul was forced to face-off with back-up opponent Mike Perry after Dillon Danis was escorted out of the venue following the pair's aggressive press conference on Tuesday.

Paul and Danis finally met after months of social media back-and-forth, first filming a head-to-head video before hopping on stage for a press conference with their co-headliners KSI and Tommy Fury. The New Yorker has been ruthlessly mocking his opponent's fiancee; model Nina Agdal, across Twitter in the lead-up, making their exchange an hotly-anticipated moment.

Misfits Boxing and Wasserman officials had even arranged for there to be a cage set up between the pair to keep them from throwing hands for the ceremonial staredown. But the face-off never took place, with Paul instead being forced to settle for Perry, with whom he will fight if Danis pulls out of yet another fight as he is known to do.

The Bellator MMA star was due to fight at the start of 2020 in the cage, but suffered a knee injury that ended up also costing him a boxing fight the following April with Logan's brother Jake. And he pulled out again at the start of this year when he was due to fight KSI in London, leaving promoters scrambling for a replacement.

This time around, they have made it official that Paul will fight bare-knuckle boxing star and former UFC fan favourite Perry if Danis withdraws, which would arguably be the more appealing fight. The brawler recently re-signed with BKFC, but has evidently been allowed to compete in standard boxing against Paul should the Danis fight fall through.

Promoter Mams Taylor is touted as the reason for Danis' return to the promotion after being banished back in January, with KSI telling Mirror Fighting: "Mams loves Dillon, I want to slap him so badly, we need to destroy him, I want him on the floor lifeless, please. Logan can do it, he's the guy, he will destroy him."

Logan then added: "I'll handle it - I have a lot to prove, my last opponent was the f***ing greatest boxer on the planet [ Floyd Mayweather, whom he faced in a 2021 exhibition]. You think Dillon Danis stands a f***ing chance? I'm going to cook him, I'm going to slaughter him.

"I haven't even started, bro. I've just begun, he's out of ammo, picked my fiancee to go after on some baseless bulls*** that a couple of internet trolls believe? I'm just like 'well, watch me work'."
