Katie Price worried fans when she declared that she would be happy to go to jail as her legal troubles continue - but a prison guard says the reality star shouldn’t be so cavalier about life behind bars.

The 45-year-old former glamour model has been in out of court near countless times in recent years due to a drink-drive incident, other car related problems, and for a string of financial problems too as she has battled bankruptcy. And earlier this month she declared she’d had enough of being hauled up in front of judges and would rather just get put behind bars for all her troubles.

But now the mother-of-five might want to change her views. A season prison guard has warned the star that life behind bars is far more difficult than most think. Sarah Partridge worked at HMP Woodhill for 15 years and has warned Katie she would be horrified by life in the clink. Sarah told OK!: “Most people seem to think it's an easy ride behind bars, but it's hard.

"Katie would have a massive shock. She's a bit deluded if she thinks she'd go in and everyone would run up to her because she's famous. She'd be a target and could be attacked - some prisoners like to make a name for themselves by hurting a famous face."

Katie is due back in court next month to address her ongoing financial problems. She is due before a judge to be grilled about her reported £3.2 million debts.

However, the star is far from bothered about her dire financial situation - and says that being forced to confront her bankruptcy issues has made her confront the severity of her situation. And she also thinks she would be happy to be jailed if it will help solve her problems.

Opening up to the Mirror last week, she said: "The bankruptcy I'm in, I actually think it's quite good for me to be in a bankruptcy, and it's good because I can see everything that's going on now. Whereas before, I was in the fast lane.

“I’m so threatened with court letters. I've been to court more times than I've had hot dinners lately. I am not scared of court anymore. I have said, 'Can't you put me to prison just to cover it all? Just be done with it.’ I'm fed up with the reminders and why I'm in it [court]. I genuinely don't care if I go to prison. Because it's done then."

Katie even thinks she could ultimately profit from some time behind bars. She suggested: "I love all the prison stuff and I can experience what it's like in there. I could do a story when I come out of me in prison, and it's a win-win situation isn't it?”

Katie previously admitted she was terrified of being jailed when she was on trial in 2021 after she totalled her car in a drink and drug fuelled crash. A friend told the MailOnline at the time: "The devastating reality of her situation is starting to hit home and Katie is terrified. It's a reality she has never faced before, which is understandably unnerving. It's not just herself who she's worried about, it's the potential reaction of her children.”

However, she avoided jail, despite pleading guilty to driving drunk without insurance and while disqualified. She was served a 16-week suspended sentence, with a condition of unpaid work, and a two-year driving ban.
