Corrie confirms new owner of The Rovers as Jenny sells pub to past character

Coronation Street sees a new era begin with The Rovers Return next week, as spoilers confirm it is sold to a new owner.

The famous pub is rescued from being demolished, as it's officially sold to a familiar face by landlady Jenny Connor. While scenes prior to this will tease new owners, it's not until next week that it's officially agreed.

Jenny signs the papers and sells the pub to a past character who recently made their return to the show, five years after their last stint on the ITV soap. Henry Newton and his brewery firm officially take on the pub - but there's some worrying news at the end of the week that could see yet more new owners take it on.

At the start of the week the fate of the pub is still up in the air, with some of the staff not clear on whether Jenny really is selling the place or not. After two years running the pub solo, and owning it with her late husband Johnny Connor prior to this, the character parts ways with the historic venue next week.

Spoilers reveal that at the start of the week, Jenny is heard discussing the deal made regarding the pub with Stephen Reid. As Jenny and Stephen head to the venue, she has some big news for stepdaughter Daisy Midgeley.

Jenny confirms she no longer owns The Rovers, and it has been sold. She's signed the papers and it now belongs to the brewery owned by Henry and the Newtons. Daisy is stunned as they remain unsure of their future as staff and lodgers of the pub flat.

Soon, Henry is getting to work with the pub, but he has a confession to make. The returning character is forced to tell the staff that his father Phillip has made a worrying decision that could once again affect the future of the establishment.

Henry tells them that his dad is intending to sell the brewery, which means the pub will go to the new owners with it. Henry is trying to stop his dad from going through with it, and trying to keep The Rovers for themselves.

It seems Waterfords, whoever they are, could be the new owner of The Rovers just days after it being signed over to Henry and his father. But who are they, and will this mean a closure for the pub after all?

airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and X.
