Prince Harry's caring comment to "nervous" Meghan Markle at huge event

A lip-reading expert has revealed what caring Prince Harry said to "nervous" Meghan Markle on the Buckingham Palace balcony in a bid to calm her nerves.

In one of the couple's first huge engagements following their marriage in 2018, Meghan and Harry were greeted by cheering crowds as they joined the other royals in front of an excited crowd for Trooping the Colour but in a whisper to her husband the former actress admitted to suffering from nerves, MirrorOnline can reveal. To the general public at large, the Duchess of Sussex looked comfortable and at ease alongside Harry as she waited to curtsy to the Queen in front of the huge crowd gathered on the Mall.

However it appears she needed some reassurance from those stood around her. Meghan was making her debut on the palace balcony to mark the Queen’s birthday celebrations just three weeks after the royal wedding in Windsor. She stood next to Harry but slightly behind future Queen Kate Middleton who chatted to Camilla as they waited for Her Majesty to arrive.

According to a lipreader, at one point Harry wipes his mouth as he turns to talk to Meghan and asks her simply: "Okay?" His wife replies: "Yeah, are you?" Harry replies simply: "Yeah." After asking each other if they were “okay”, Meghan also admitted to Harry that she was “nervous!” Harry replies "Yes" and then smiles before saying "okay?"

In further snippets of conversation spotted as they turned towards the camera, Harry appears to say: “Errr. When you get into it I'll tell you more later.” Seconds later, he adds: “Then there's the flypast and then we all look up to the sky.” Meghan further responds with “alright” a couple of times while continuing to smile at the thousands of people on the grounds outside Buckingham Palace.

After the late Queen arrived and took her place front and centre for the event back in 2018, Meghan could be seen smiling brightly over her shoulder throughout the rest of the gathering. .

As well as keeping a close eye on Harry and Meghan, the lip-reading expert looked out for other conversations between the Queen, Kate, Camilla and the children. One of the candid moments came between William, Kate and their two eldest children.

Speaking to George as aircraft passed over the palace, William said “Oh, helicopters”, with Kate adding “what a sight” while talking to Charlotte. However, not all watching parents were keeping an eye on the aerial display, with Autumn Phillips reminding one of her daughters to “stand properly”. Other moments interpreted by the lip-reader included the Queen saying “Here's the Arrows”, while another conversation picked up between the Queen and Prince Andrew saw the pair discussing the different types of aircraft flying above.
