Emmerdale affair scandal

Mackenzie Boyd is back to his cheating ways, this time betraying his former fling and now-partner Chloe Harris as he sleeps with another village resident. The character finds himself back in bed with a former flame, almost a year after he cheated on her and got another woman pregnant. Just months ago Mack tied the knot with Charity Dingle, the same day his secret son Reuben was born. But Charity soon found out about his and Chloe's fling, and the fact he was her son's father.

It led to them splitting up and Mackenzie embarked on a romance with Chloe. While things look to be going in the right direction for the couple, it's clear Mackenzie still loves Charity. New spoilers for this week reveal the pair find themselves getting passionate once again, just hours before little Reuben's christening.

As Mack goes to visit Charity after she allows him and Chloe to use the pub to celebrate the christening, things take an unexpected turn. The pair share a steamy kiss, just after Mack has reassured Chloe she is the one for him.

Chloe and Mack are left feeling awkward about it all, as he rushes out. Charity can’t help but hope for a reunion, while things become tense on the day of the ceremony. After confiding in his sister Moira, she warns him he could lose his son if he reveals the truth.

EastEnders return

EastEnders airs the return of a familiar face in Walford this week on the BBC soap, just months after they made their big return on screen. Anna Knight's attempts to lure her mother Rose Knight back into her life leads to a comeback, but it's not who she's hoping for. Anna remains unaware that her mother Rose's true identity is Cindy Beale, a former Walford who knows many of the residents there.

The twist is that Walford believes Cindy is dead after she was killed off on the soap off screen in 1998. Cindy actually went into witness protection, and in this time she met George Knight and had children with him, including daughter Anna.

Viewers recently saw Cindy return in a twist, with her now hiding out in France with her ex-husband Ian Beale. Ian has not told his family, asides their son Peter Beale, that Cindy is alive and they are back together. Anna recently went behind her family's back and contacted a private investigator to track down her mother, and this week spoilers revel she finally makes contact - or so she thinks.

The character calls her mum and leaves a message explaining she’s in Walford and how she misses her every day. Meanwhile, her love interest Bobby Beale is worried about his grandmother Kathy Beale's plan to sell the family chippy and makes contact with his brother Peter.

As Anna sends a scathing text to her mum, believing she's being ignored, we see it's actually Peter who is getting them. He intercepts his mother's phone, unaware of who Anna is - until his dad Ian reveals he has two sisters in Walford.

Ian pleads with his son not to tell Cindy that Anna is in Walford, as he deletes the messages and call history. What he's not expecting is Peter fleeing France and heading back to Walford to meet his siblings.

Corrie heartache

Coronation Street's Paul Foreman is left emotional this week as his health and mobility continue to deteriorate, months on from his motor neurone disease diagnosis. The character, played by Peter Ash, recently learned he had the condition and that there was no cure. MND is a condition that affects the brain and nerves, and sadly it eventually leads to death – while patients can live with the disease for many years.

Paul was diagnosed earlier this year after struggling to use his hand, with him told he may only have three years to live at most. Since then his right leg and foot muscles have weakened, meaning his mobility has declined.

This week, Paul will suffer a fall as the issues with his leg worsen. Paul does his best to cover, secretly dismayed at his deterioration, while partner Billy Mayhew will return home with a walking aid for him to use.

When Paul admits the walking aid will take some getting used to, Billy suggests he uses a wheelchair instead, but Paul’s mortified at the idea. Later, he and twin sister Gemma are surprised with a joint birthday party and he's left overwhelmed. Gemma suggests Paul takes her son Bryn to the playground for a bit, but when the little one runs off Paul sets chase and takes a fall. Peter Barlow is horrified as he catches Bryn running away before finding Paul on the floor.

Back at the flat Paul admits he can’t manage the stairs, so Billy asks for Todd's help to carry Paul up to their home. Paul is humiliated as his mobility worsens, and he agrees it might be time to install a stairlift up to the flat.
