Escape to the Country's Jules Hudson shares plans for show amid 'difficulties'
Escape to the Country presenter Jules Hudson has insisted he hopes to be part of the show for many more years.
The 53-year-old, who has been one of the main presenters on the BBC show since 2007, has revealed he "absolutely loves" being part of the programme, in which helps those wanting to start a new life in the countryside.
"I hope to do Escape to the Country for as long as I'm able and for as long as the show will have me," Jules told Express.co.uk. The Escape to the Country host, who has worked on the programme for almost 17 years, added: "For me, country life is absolutely who I am and it's who I was before I came to present Escape to the Country.
"It's a massive step for lots of people, so having the chance to share that, that experience, those tips and tricks, it's very much a way of life for me. I absolutely love it, it's a show I'm incredibly fond of. It's very dear to me."
Jules revealed he also loves revisiting those who went on to purchase a rural property they were introduced to on their original Escape to the Country journey. He said: "Seeing them at home in their new life happy and content, it takes it out of just being a TV show, if that makes sense, you are helping people achieve something much greater and welcoming them into the countryside."
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessJules also presents This Week on the Farm alongside Helen Skelton, who recently quit her radio show to spend more time with her three children. The former Strictly star, 40, surprised her fans when she announced her departure from Radio 5 Live after a year at the station. It was revealed she was struggling to balance her job with being a mum to three children.
"Anybody with any busy life will tell you that the balance between your working life and family life can be tricky," Jules said. "I've got a young son, we've got our own life here in Hertfordshire that is very dear to us, so you know, trying to balance it all can be difficult but it's a partnership, it's a team effort through the family.
"We all understand it, we have mortgages to pay and bills to pay and all the rest of it, it is our working life. It's not easy but that's the trouble every family in the country faces lets be honest, you just have to work hard and play."
