Trump endorsement 'seal of approval' created to combat 'scammers'
Former United States President Donald Trump, who is currently facing a number of indictments for his part in the January 6 riots and overturning the 2020 election, is letting loyal supporters have access to an official "Seal of Approval."
The Trump campaign announced Friday that the seal would be provided to "an exclusive group of candidates and committees" that the embattled former president "endorses or otherwise supports." Those wishing to distinguish themselves as Trump donors would then be able to tell the difference between "authorized uses of his name and likeness, and unauthorized uses including oftentimes outright scams."
"It is intended to protect the President’s donors and supporters from illegitimate organizations falsely claiming some affiliation with President Trump and his campaign," the Trump campaign said in the Friday release.

According to the campaign, Trump's endorsement is "the most powerful force in American politics," adding that the former president has "election-defining" influence.
'Most impersonated woman' used by scammers to steal from thousands of menThe campaign then goes on to claim that those endorsed by Trump on his social media backed network, Truth Social, happen to secure victories in their elections. He also claimed that those he brings onstage before his supporters are also delivered a "decisive victory." Many outlets report that while Trump does have a decent record of endorsement, he fails to paint the entire picture and often endorses candidates already likely to win their races.
"Unfortunately, some candidates, PACs and their fundraising vendors have drained millions of dollars from President Trump’s donors by falsely claiming that they support President Trump, that the President supports them, and that funds received in response to the solicitations will support, help, or defend President Trump," the campaign states in the release.
"To fight this scam, President Trump’s endorsement will now include the right to use his name and likeness in fundraising solicitations and other campaign communications, as signified by this Seal. The Seal will be a powerful signal to President Trump’s loyal donors that the sender is on Team Trump, and is not a scammer."
The campaign says that those endorsed by Trump will be "encouraged" to use the seal for their dealings on social media, in paid advertising and on merchandise. A digital art file, the seal is revocable, non-exclusive license and is non-transferable. According to the release, the Trump campaign is prepared to seek legal action for those who attempt to mimic or "unlawfully" use the seal.
It does appear to be easy to sign up for the seal as a short form is attached to the release for those wishing to get access to such an exclusive item.
